I’m not sure about all the technicalities of music contracts. However, I do know that if the artist is seen as « no longer profitable », the label could put an end to their agreement. Maybe this is Sky’s game in the end: to be seen as unreliable so she could break free? 🤷‍♂️ (bear in mind that I am a very casual fan of hers, really not knowing much about her or what’s behind the scene, and it’s why I don’t comment much on this thread)

Its hard to speculate without having heard anything yet from the album, but if the descriptions of the sound given by lustforlife or DragonWhore accurate, I’d love some scenes on a beach, waves, landscapes of the West Coast, filmed through an old camera, a bit like the National Anthem MV.

I can’t wait for this album to receive the billion streams it deserves.

Choose to believe it or not because of the source, but lustforlife said that since January, Lana and Mike were on different vibes. It wasn’t said which Mike (didn’t one of her recent exes is called Mike?), but the posts LFL made that day we’re about the album, so I guess it’s about Mike Dean. WFWF was a bit of a letdown for me, because I think Lana should have let him go way wilder with production (the last minute should have happened way sooner IMO), so I’d be here for a « redemption arc » for him on LDR9.

I’d be here for a UV 2.0, but I don’t hate that we get smidges of that sound or those lyrics in side projects or in small doses in album songs.

Iustforlife said, earlier this year, that Mike and her were on different vibes since January… since he didn’t specify, I don’t know if he was talking about Mike Dean or her ex (wasn’t he called Mike also)?!? And I know how many here feel about lustforlife, so take this with a grain of salt.

her collabs are really hit or miss, but I’m never against one that would fit the album. I tend to prefer when she collabs with men, to be honest… not that I hate her female collabs, but none are really « career highlights » imo.

If we got the hints correctly and if DragonWhore and lustforlife didn’t troll us, we’re in for a big era. My guess it that LDR9 will support a big tour, so depending on the beginning of it, we should have a lead in the upcoming months. I’d love a beautiful summery lead single As for her taking her time, she has had a lot of time on her hands, with COVID, since her tour got delayed/cancelled, which means she could take her time writing and recording while still doing it « fast ». Besides, she can take all the time she wants for her albums, but last time she took two years between records, we got Lust For Life: not that it’s a bad album at all, but a whole lot happened in those two years that considerably changed the direction of this one; I don’t want LDR9 to feel « incohesive ».

I think the era could be starting in the next three months, with the lead and that interview. Maybe the poetry announcement not long after? i was thinking that LDR9 will probably be out to support her next tour (that lustforlife hinted at). As for the standards and covers, that project seems way more uncertain than the other two at this point and I’d be surprised if we got any news regarding it before 2023.

COCC and BB really were meant to be « smaller eras », I think, with those two very quiet and reflexive albums about her art and her past (we’re lucky she is with Interscope plus that so many artists went the minimalistic route these passed two years, so she could « get away » with two more quiet albums in a row). but I’m glad we’re stepping back into a « bigger » era with this one.

Big era coming?!? i really the teasing game so far: pictures, videos in the studio, things she loves… no snippet so far, no album title… damn, did she finally learn her lesson?

I’m having a more realistic approach : the lead could drop by the end of summer if she has indeed a good portion of the album in the can (which we have absolutely no idea of right now. True, Rob posts a lot and the direction and sound of it seems to be decided. But other than that, we’re just delulu at this point)
