I don’t know how I feel about Rob’s IG post… I liked SC musically, but didn’t connect that much with the lyrics (what can I say: motherhood never was my reality ). I’m not at all against piano songs… and I love what she did with Drew for the last album, especially if they channel BBS energy. But… if the vibe of LDR9 is yet again singer -songwriter, then I hope we get to hear all the collabs she did recently and they better sound very differently from BB and COCC. We need bigger production Lana.

ASaP’s collab, Ridin’. I recently relistened to it and found it more interesting than I first did. maybe it’s because of the last two singer-songwriter albums she gave us, although excellent but quieter, but I’ve been enjoying much more her early work for the last months.

The project that I don’t understand why it’s not coming yet is the cover album. She surely recorded a few already, and here a couple of covers she never officially released : - The Good Life - Some Things Last a Long Time - Summer Wine - Chelsea Hotel - surely there is a cover Scarborough Fair recorded… or even from her live shows. - is Heart-Shape Box a thing? I mean, I certainly forgot a couple of them already. Six more and we got an album, y’all.

I’m actually fine with collabs or soundtrack songs dropping sparsely this year: it should give her time to refocus and regroup and these side projects usually give us a different sound from her.

Honeymoon leaked the OG cover that was considered for the Venice Bitch single cover. I don’t know what to think of it. It’s a cute and fun moment, when put aside Mariners’s cover, it sorta makes sense, but it’s really not a great cover either. The cover we got never was the best IMO, but that one isn’t either for me.

That’s a shame. Your tracklist was stellar, @bigspender. I had not placed an order yet because I’m poor AF these days, but would have in a couple of weeks if it had been possible. I must say though that I was expecting something like that to happen, sadly.

This. it’s not that I want the same themes or even the same production (BTD is incredible but I think she did the right move by switching up producers: Emile’s prod might have sounded repetitive if she had done another album with him). But after two quiet albums, she could go back to a more fuller sound, like she did with the best tracks of LFL (Love, Cherry, Summer Bummer, White Mustang, 13 Beaches).

I’m surprised: you don’t want another BTD ? Not targeted at you specifically, but BTD is always considered to be her « best »… (I think I’m just just starving for bigger production at this point. BTD never was my fave, but I gotta applause the prod on that one). unpopular but for a long time, I preferred LFL to BTD (Now they’re sorta equals for diff reasons)

Maybe because many of the songs that would have ended up on Paradise leaked? Until recently, when a song leaked, she discarded it immediately for any future project. So maybe this is part of the answer. Anyways, all those info from insiders we got yesterday don’t seem to be that reliable in the sense that it might have been the « plan » for a hot minute but nothing more.

At this point, insiders will need to define what « scraping » is with Lana: finished songs not making it to an album is, to me, a scrapped song (like Serene Queen), but is Valley of the Dolls a « scrapped song » if it was just a rough demo (and Sugary Sweet apparently)? Since she changes her mind all the time, her producers must be going insane sometimes Old Money. It was the « oldest » track of the bunch.
