  1. Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the ASAP collab… I don’t mind if she collabs with people on a few songs, especially if the collab is a banger. But the damn Jesse Rutherford collab… will we ever get the chance to hear it some day?!?
  2. Yep and to think that we have no fucking idea when we’ll ever hear it again officially released… Édit: i thought I had replied to the Sylvia post Always love when she releases two singles but THREE was a new level of bliss
  3. We’ve had weirder, me thinks so fucking true
  4. LDR9 already seems to be a bigger era than the last two, if there is already merch done and a possible lead single already chosen. I don’t mind that both Chemtrails and Bb were smaller eras because it fitted the mood of those albums. But imagine a small era with no promo for a big summer album
  5. I really think that the lead single is the song BoZ teased with the « sweet like rock Candy » lyrics. And the beach reference ties almost too perfectly with the DNC logo… plus I really believe BoZ is tied to the music industry and got the chance to hear some parts if not the whole song in a « This is what’s coming in the next year for those artists » kinda meeting. And let’s not forget he had lots of info about the lead / promo singles in the previous era…
  6. Still to this day, I’m wondering how the world would have collapsed if she never had released Venice Bitch as a single, if we had discovered it in the context of the album, like 13 Beaches, Heroin or Black Bathing Suit. And yet, that near-10 minute masterpiece is what held my hype until the release of damn NFR…
  7. I already have my mind set on a June album lol so I don’t wish for it to come out in the fall… I sure hope that the album is pretty much done and submitted to her record company when we get the hear the first single… I’m never a big fan of never ending pre-releases…
  8. Actually, HM’s was perfect: Title track teased in June via snippets on IG, title track release the next month, lead single in August, followed by cover reveal, tracklist reveal, fan tracks and the album in September. There were a couple of interviews and videos, but it was mainly about the music, which I love. In retrospect, LFL was incredible as well if we omit the damn release date that never was mentioned until that ugly tweet, at the end of May. There were many singles, MV, snippets, interviews, glamorous photoshoots, all in a 5-month period. NFR was excruciating, Chemtrails and BB were very minimalistic…
  9. The new Weeknd album seems to have lots of synth and I don’t know where Lana would have fitted in there. But FJM’s teasers, on the other hand, scream Lana

    Madonna

Madonna was such an incredible artist up to Music. Everything she did was ahead of its time in the pop game, reinventing herself album after album. American Life was a bold attempt at politics (but not a very subtle one), Confessions was pure bliss. But I am not at all impressed by her recent albums, I must say. Culture has caught up to her and it’s harder and harder to keep pushing the envelope when everything seems to be have done and not shocking anymore (which has always been a key element to her music: to spark some controversy or at least, some discussion). Plus her recent albums lack a coherent vision and mix match a lot of « it producers » that don’t really end up making coherent albums, in the end. There are still good songs on each of them, but the magic is missing for me, I must say.
  11. Anyone else thinks Rob’s post was purely coincidental?
  12. Just to add a little fuel to the fire… i loved RCS as an album title but NOT for THAT album. RCS has a light, sweet, carefree ring to it that is nowhere in the BB songs. Blue Banisters has a nice singer-songwriter-poetry tone to the title, which mirrors/continues the Chemtrails Over The Country Club road she took.
  13. It would be very nice and what any artist would do. Plus there are some incredible leaks that would give her great stream and sale numbers. As much as I would like that, she never does anything like the others, so I’m putting my expectations to a minimum on that one.
  14. - LDR9 (it could be her way to « acknowledge » BTD’s 10th anniversary, by coming back to a more mainstream sound, kinda like BB was almost like acknowledging her fave leaked songs. And if Emile is involved again, it would be full circle); - something else by the end of the year, maybe. The cover album is oddly enough not the one we’re getting first, it seems (and didn’t she say it could take her a week or so to record it?!? ). BTIG: it will be out at some point, but the tone of it seems so dense and intense that it’s taking more time than expected, so maybe in 2023?
  15. December was all about revisiting Chemtrails Over the Country Club. But yesterday and today, it’s all about Arcadia: there is an incredible grandeur to the strings and brass section that fits a new year, plus some lyrics so hit super hard right now (« My heart is like paper », « You’ll need a miracle, America »).
  16. LDR Village already « announcing » new merch drop in 2022…
  17. I don’t know what to make of the whole « trilogy » thing anymore, or even « the new direction » of LDR9: I love Eclipse, but how much of the new album he got to hear, to say it’s in a new direction and not just the « lead single »? Plus with her changing her idea all the time, how much of a «planned out trilogy » does she really have in mind?!? anyways, lately, I’ve been seeing her albums as pairs of yin and Yang, so I’m not sure what to make of categorizations anymore.
  18. I’m okay with Jack being on board again as long as he is not the sole producer of LDR9. Lana and him created some of her best songs together and as much as Chemtrails has its flaws, both albums feel like they’re hers and not a copy paste of all the albums he produced for pop singers lately (Lorde’s is the worst in the matter IMO). all the insights we got from Eclipse and BoZ lately have me hoping for another « American classic » in her discography (the way BTD and NFR are). It would be so iconic if LDR9 was her bestselling record after a decade in the game
  19. White Dress, the title track, Tulsa Jesus Freak, Yosemite and Dark But Just a Game are all outstanding. For Free is beautiful… but really hard to relate to if you’re not a singer 😂 Same for Dance Till We Die. The other tracks are very good, but could have benefited from a bolder production IMO.
  20. I think it was more a « possible project » than a certainty. Interscope pushing the song upon release to playlists makes it believable it was, at some point, a possibility. Anyways, with her MV, unless it’s the « lead single », I always take with a grain a salt the possibility of ever seeing those, since she moves on very quickly to new songs and new eras.
  21. Clearly. Although it doesn’t have the « outstanding masterpieces tracks » that Chemtrails has, it’s one of her most interesting albums in terms of diversity / cohesiveness. The songs flow so well together. With Chemtrails, you can pick up a few songs on their own; with Blue Banisters, it’s hard to not listen to it in full. 2021 was a shitty year, but to have been blessed with these two sister albums by Lana in the same year, it sure helped make it through.
  22. Anyways… FJM teased his new album on IG: The song is probably not related to Lana at all, but imagine if she had something like that on her next album…
  23. I love all the covers she did with Neil, so I guess I’d want him back. Chuck did give us some amazing covers as well (HBTB, HM and NFR). It’s the LFL one I find a bit lacklustre. But if she switched things up a bit, with a new photographer, it could be interesting.
  24. I think BoZ heavily hinted at it. I just hope it’s true.
