Many artists / labels are taking down that route this year, after the vinyls have been sent to plants for a couple of months. I read two rumours: there were talks with Olivia (probably for her album and not Lana’s)… and i saw today she could have a collab with Billie in the works. Maybe the Billie collab could be for Lana’s album if it’s true Interscope wants Lasso to be « popular ». anyways, to say « female artist » is almost like a safe bet at this point: she surely has a collab with another girl planned or done.

I agree with you that there has to be at least one song on this album that will be good. I honestly would have loved to love her comeback. But let’s just say that her new single has « dated » written all over it, visuals included. The production, with the Hot and Cold percussions and the pseudo feminist anthem, it doesn’t sound very 2024. To choose Woman’s World has a « big comeback single » was clearly not a good decision. I guess our collective expectations were way too high on that one, but both her label and her had built up the hype for something very mid.

Im not against the idea (I mean, Henry does sound a bit like COCC, which wasn’t her biggest success at all, and I like the « NY » Lana we’ve been getting lately), but kinda don’t like that her label wants to « push » a direction for the sake of popularity

Are they reliable? Not 100%, but none of those insider accounts is. Some things do check out for some artists, but other posts don't (Lana was rumored to be featured on Katy's LP, and she isn't - gladly so, I must say). In their bio, they specify it could be just rumors. I take that a plan is somewhat set in motion for the new album. Oh, they also said it's still a country album but that it won't be named Lasso anymore. Someone here said that we weren't supposed to get Tough so soon, but since both fandoms wanted it, they pushed the release up. Anyways, I read this tweet as «Let's not anticipate anxiously Lasso before fall and enjoy the rest of your life» That's the thing about these insider account: they never reveal their sources I take that they have conversations with «someone in the entourage of the artist», whether that person is legit or not.

No matter what her reasons are for working with Dr.Luke, whether abuse happened or not, all I'm gonna say is that the song doesnt sound good at all so far. The whole concept screams BS: we're living in a woman's world? Gurl, take a good look around for only two seconds and you'll see that this is sadly a man's world, where women clearly are still not viewed as «equals» . And the visuals for the Mv we've seen so far A girl wearing next to nothing singing a «feminist» anthem, girl this is exactly what feminists wanted to change, to feel the need to be a sexual object. I'd be happy to change my mind with this era, but so far, it's a mess

Is Tough amongst her best songs? Not at all and it never was the goal. Its an incredible summer bop, very addictive with lots of replay value. And yet, it doesnt feel like its «forced» for the sake of making a summer bop, its still very much Lana and I love it. I get that Lana is an oddball in the musical landscape and that she is a singer songwriter first, but I'm glad we get some tracks that are more «easy going» to listen to. The leaks are good, I guess (Zodiac is the highlight to me; Everything I Do has interesting production but it's clearly not her best lyrics). And just like you i think LB often wants / likes songs that are doing poorly when it comes to streaming Like I dont get why people still want Henry as the lead for Lasso, especially after all the complaining that COCC or BB were too minimalist in their production.

Still love this song so much. The only thing that I don't understand is the number of people who posted about the demo since release day, therefore confirming they were involved in the creation of the song... and yet they all posted about the damn chorus. Ok it's the summer bop I've been wanting from her for a long time It's been on repeat since i've been able to listen to it. The MV is a bit meh to me. She's etherally gorgeous, love their chemistry together (can't wait to hear what else they recorded together), but the concept is nothing extraordinary IMO. Andrew Watt, you're a hero

I really like Tough (from what I’ve heard) but if it’s not on Lasso (which doesn’t seem like it), the album is giving Chemtrails 2.0 vibes so far: acoustic ballad Henry, inevitable Nikki collab.s… Bot that Chemtrails is bad, it’s just that it has some songs I don’t care about on it.

I kinda feel bad for him tbh (and for all of her BF in general since the cop): she wrote songs about the cop for what? Three albums now for sure while she was with Clay… Lana and Clay shot some promo footage for the BB title track, in her LMLYLAW live performances, we can see they had a Christmas ornament of their names together… and yet they ended up their relationship in a weird / limbo state apparently… True, he seems to be grasping at anything to get attention to his own career, but at least they seem on somewhat good terms so she can use what they wrote together for future releases, unlike what had happened with Barrie

They take their info from people who feed them. Sometimes, they are 💯 accurate (infos about Billie and Taylor tend to check out) but sometimes not so much, depending who they’ve spoken to. I follow them and love to read what’s coming but I can’t say they are the most reliable when it comes to Lana: she now keeps her cards close to her chest (except when she blurts out an album name and release date at an event ) and nobody seems to know what’s happening behind closed doors anymore. as for that tweet, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were for Tough only, based on the snippets
