I don’t think she will feed this TikTok account very much. She forgot about her Honeymoon account, so I don’t see her going to that new one to post.

TikTok is garbage. People spend way too much time pretending to be a celebrity on that. Its only « benefit » has been to put Queen of Disaster on the map for the general public. That video is cute though. Those siblings are simply gorgeous, especially when they all are blonde.

I expect nothing over the Fourth of July weekend, except maybe a selfie with the American flag and a picture with her friends. Next week could be nice for a « peak » of COCC. Maybe this is why I’d like a single At some point, to have confirmation it’s really coming Sept 4-5. Or maybe no single at all, just the cover of it, with the date as caption.

Same. Although the outro redeemed it for me. -

Lana Del Rey updates on YouTube posted a link to an article of all the LA references on NFR. Very interesting. It also explains the sound of the album, its « minimalism », since it refers to Laurel Canyon and that singer-songwriter-filk sound in the 60s and 70s. https://www.lamag.com/culturefiles/lana-del-rey-norman-fucking-rockwell-la-map/ -
With blind faith and blissful ignorance that we would have NFR by the beginning of 2019 lol. I can’t count the number of times I wrote « The era is finally beginning », with each new single or new snippet. Spring was awful, summer as well. Last summer’s shows gave me hope, when she was confirming each time the album was coming in August (but by then, God we were fed up). It still is one of the worst rollouts of her career. LFL seemed like a piece of cake in retrospect.

The tracklist announcement is always a BIG moment for me. I am very not that difficult with the album covers (I basically love all of them except the Paradise one that I find too much alike the BTD one, and way too photoshopped). But the first snippet / first single is MONUMENTAL: it’s basically a taste of things to come.

You might be setting yourself up for disappointment. She is getting a bit « old » to sing about those themes. Not that I don’t like them, but with each album, she is telling another chapter where she is getting a bit older with each record. The themes evolve as she does. The kinda raw tracks she did before UV or during UV, well, I’m afraid we will need a couple of leaks (if there are any) to hear exactly those again. The themes are still there, just not as plain as they were. On NFR, Venice, Cinnamon Girl and FIILY are all about dope and the bad guy type is hinted on HIaB. It’s just more subtle and maybe more suiting for a 30-something woman, I guess?

I get what you mean. To me, BTD was always the album where she was retelling the story of her end of teenage - early twenties, so she seems « Cooly distant » to the emotions, not so close to the story. With NFR, the emotions feel more « raw » or exposed, probably because she was living that story at the moment. I hope COCC keeps that sincerity.

I wonder how her May posts will translate on COCC and how critics could see « controversy » in that chapter of life ... She is heartbroken and can’t live without her man (which is mostly not what female pop is about these days)? That she is fragile / sad-depressed on the verge of attempting suicide? That she is deeply in love with her man and needs him? So many questions... Hope we get something in July!!!! I agree with you with the « minimal » production. I don’t mind a song with piano only, and I love that she chose that direction for NFR for a couple of songs. But COCC overall needs to go bolder and bigger, production wise.

I'd be okay with one interlude, like a spoken-word poem with Jack's music (it really would be a preview of the audio book - or is it audio books?). Something that snaps, like Patent Leather, and that didn't make the cut with the books. It could be a good transition to «the new era» of her career. But if there's none, I'm super fine with that: we're about to get a lot of «poetry Lana» in the next months-year.
