The most WTF moments of LDR's career in your opinion

That or she could have made one of the strongest albums of her career out of the best songs of the two. -

Let’s just say that our girl isn’t the best to choose songs that could be singles Dealer not being a single with MV is a bit more comprehensible: I don’t think she thought it would be the biggest success of BB and once an “era” is well underway, she is already recording for the next album, so little time to film MVs. bur Cherry, Summer Bummer, Cinnamon Girl, Peppers: they could all have been singles with MVs with radioplay even -
The most WTF moments of LDR's career in your opinion

COVID really was a weird time, and my focus wasn’t really all that at times. All I was thinking was “Did she just announce a new album for September?” and then I got to read QFTC… -
Thank you, hun For your empathy. To be fair, I didn’t think @wilting daisy was invalidating and I don’t mind the debate around religion, especially in a pre-pre-release thread where everyone will express their wishful thinking / wildest dream about what we want the next LP to be. And I’m glad that LB hasn’t had the experience I had with church and good for Lana if it’s not the case either. That being said, if that song is on some album in the future, I’ll gladly listen to it and if I don’t connect with it, I’ll be fine. Lana clearly doesn’t make music for me specifically Bah nothing new, just a mild debate around including ITTJ on the next LP. But all is good

You’re right that it’s the Church as an institution that has done much damage for me. And you’re right that Jesus the man is the epitome of selflessness and generosity. But “Jesus as a Saviour” is sadly so intertwined into Church politics and BS that it becomes very hard to dissociate the two, TBH.

I love when Lana gets jazzy on her collabs and I can’t wait to hear Life Lesson to see if it’s “jazzy” like Candy Necklace or the interlude

The TLSP songs seem to have been a bunch of demos, from what BoZ told us in January and Lana reworked / finished those for her albums. And it’s still unclear how many of those there are left (didn’t BoZ say that they used most of the “finished” ones already? And then there Miles who say that they could release a whole album form those…) As for the Nikki collabs, Nikki told in an interview last year that there were songs that they worked on together and that got recorded but there wasn’t a timeline on when to release them. She even joked that maybe in ten years, they’ll lock themselves up in a house to finish those for a future release (what I read into this is that they hang out together, have fun, record some songs if it happens but have their own albums to get back to)

I have not been scarred by a pagan god so far in my life seriously though, I’m not against Lana talking about God or anything Christianity related (Religion, Say Yes to Heaven, Body Electric, God Knows I Tried and so on), but I Talk to Jesus is just a tad too much Sunday school to me. Plus it kinda negates her whole “love California” aesthetic that I love from her. But to each its own and I don’t want to convince anyone that my opinion is superior in any way

Interscope’s safest bet (and biggest success) would be to release the unreleased collection this fall, digitally only (SYTH is doing super well, and it would generate a very steady revenue stream over the months / years to come, just like BTD), with a new album at the beginning of 2024, with physical copies and all.
-
If LDRX is an original album, then I don’t think it’s coming before 2024, your timelines being very realistic @ShadesOfViolence @LanaBalkana. But if it’s an unreleased album, I think fall 2023 is not that far-fetched, but the big question is whether we’ll get vinyls out of it (I must admit that her label pulling out so many unreleased has me questioning why: is it because they want to release the whole bunch of her unreleased discography digitally or because they are taking all the songs down “just in case”? If so, it’s a bit stupid because nobody is making any money out of those anymore…).

It is heartbreaking TBH: Girl spent all of her life chasing a dream not didn’t fulfil her in the end and her last hope is for Jesus to save her / take her back to her starting point. and I’m glad that the vast majority of LB wasn’t PTSDed by religion, so they can enjoy ITTJ, unlike me (same reason why I can’t listen to the Judas Smith Interlude: I’ve had way too many preachers yelling over my younger years to be able to listen to it)
-
It’s not the talking to Jesus part that bugs me, but the fact that she’s asking him to be saved… And I get the song, but I’ve been raised in a very conservative background with lots of church talking and “Jesus save us from eternal damnation”. Even Lana can’t sell me this one. But I know ITTJ a favourite here, and that I am the minority, but hey, isn’t it what pre-pre-releases are for? To express pour wishful thinking or impossible dreams regarding a Lana LP?
-
Wildly unpopular here, but if she did rework I Talk to Jesus, I hope she changed the chorus, because the Sunday school message of Christ saving me, I’ve had enough for two lifetimes
-
I really doubt Lana will be on the new tracks. I’ve seen rumours about Lorde / Ariana Grande being featured, but I’m not sure how reliable this info is TBH

San Francisco, CA @ Outside Lands - August 12th, 2023

I guess that Byron supposedly hyping a “surprise” didn’t help either… I watched a bit of it last night and she was good. But I think we entered the “fan fatigue” part of the tour, when we’ve heard those songs and seen her outfits / hair, so if there is nothing new at all, not even a small variation on something, we’re going to find the show “boring”. I’m pretty sure that someone who hasn’t watched every venue of this festival tour surely enjoyed this show much more than we did.- 503 replies

It’s better than the OG. Still not top tier to me, but it’s cute (sorry if I sound negative: I relistened to all of her albums yesterday, and man did I feel the “drop” when I got to Solar Power. Not that it’s a bad album, but I prefer Lorde with upbeats and well, SP doesn’t offer much in that regard)

Some Twitter “leak” accounts are saying the single could come out as soon as mid-August, more in September apparently 👀
-
Kinda true that her voice sounds strained here… But the beats on those two… I mean

And another bites the dust -
The new songs sound really good, way better than many songs on SP

POP rock-ish might be more accurate
