That insider isn’t as credible as they used to be before Cowboy Carter (they apparently have been fed false info about the track list)… They’re usually right but not always… so, a Billie collab has been rumoured for long now, but I’ve seen on Twitter Lana could be featured on an interlude for the new Camilla album… Her post about Camilla would make more sense, if there is indeed a collab between the two. Anyways, with so many albums coming out before summer, I’m in no hurry for Lasso yet…

I dont know how I feel about her going on tour… Big tours are very time-consuming and kinda push back, in a sense, a new album… Her festival tours have lots of advantages for her (and even for fans like me, who are all about the music, and the rest really comes in second, including tours): people see her, she can rely on her classics with a very few new songs added, who cares if a new album is in preparation and how far it is (she doesn’t have to stress out about the new setlist being about the new album mostly), it’s not that time consuming that she can’t hop into studios to record new songs. true, the setlist of her festival tours aren’t as good as a proper tour for an album, but I kinda don’t hate it if we get new music sooner because of it.

That’s interesting Quavo collab out for Coachella? 10 years of UV? Not super realistic, I know my guess is either the book (although it’s not new music related) or a single out for Coachella… I’d be so disappointed if it was a vinyl of Country Roads

I’m only hoping Lasso won’t be « minimal sounding »/ minimal production like CoCC and BB are. Both albums have incredible and strong songs, but both albums have songs I don’t connect with. It’s always a big risk, by going minimal: if you don’t connect with the lyrics, the production is kinda « non-existent » to fall in love with that song. There are a couple of songs I didn’t connect with at first, in her previous albums, but the production was so good that I ended up loving them in the long run, although I had nothing in my life that resonated with the story told on those. But on COCC and BB, I never had that « click moment » with a couple of them mostly because of the too simple production.

Jack said Lasso was brilliant, she needs to put out an exciting song at first to attract attention to her new venture. Henry, Come On sounds very good, very promising, but is it « strong » or « memorable » enough for a lead for a new project? Not sure 🤔 We’ve been at this with so many releases already: Happiness Is a Butterfly, Tulsa Jesus Freak, Candy Necklace. It’s almost tradition at this point, to get a first teaser that is not the first single

I like Henry but I don’t think it should be the first single from Lasso. It’s a bit « small » sounding.

Saying this again, but she really should release a very small collection of leaked stuff (5-7 songs) with little to no fanfare, just like she did with SYTH, and let them do their own thing with streaming. then Lasso songs this summer

Good news is that it should be out this fall, which gives it a bit of time after Cowboy Carter to be its own thing without constant comparison. I honestly don’t want it to be Lasso-related yet. Like give us a cute « festival single » not country, please, miss Lana ! It’d be too soon for her album (too long before the actual release and too close to Beyoncé’s)

The comparison is inevitable because they’re both huge stars doing something new, and Beyoncé has been able to shut her detractors up. I really wasn’t into Cowboy Carter before its release but this is brilliant and it feels very fresh. will Lasso sound like Cowboy Carter? Of course not and it honestly shouldn’t. I’m sure Lana will do a Lana album, which is a good thing, the same way Beyoncé did a Beyonce album in the end. but the comparison with Beyoncé might come up if Lasso doesn’t allow her to step out of her « comfort zone », if it sounds too much like Chemtrails 2.0 or Blue Banisters’s little sister.

I am completely stunned by Cowboy Carter… and I didn’t even like the two singles. It is just incredible that proves that Beyoncé is a visionary. It both slaps and is intimate (which was a bit lacking in Renaissance, even though I loved it).

Im not done yet with my first listen, but the two first singles might be the least interesting songs on the album?!? Lana, I’m sorry to say this, but you better step your pussy up with Lasso cause Cowboy Carter is INCREDIBLE.
