To this day, I never understood the hype LB got for Henry after having heard the snippet I mean, it’s cute, I like it, but the never ending COCC or BB slander read here for songs that sound like “demos” or “unfinished” or “too simple” and yet LB craves Henry… Never change, LB, never change. If the song is indeed scrapped from Lasso, she should just release it as a standalone single and we’ll give it the 1000 streams it will get in the end on Spotify

If Henry isn’t on the Lasso final track list, which would be a first for her (to tease a song with a snippet and not include it on the album), I wish she releases it as a standalone single. @disguttodeath said she had to rework the album because it was too « boring », so it could be the perfect way to have her song the way she likes it and not « compromise » the album (although I find that part a bit hard to believe tbh: her management said numerous times she was in full control of what she released… )

I was having a thought yesterday, as I was driving back home Correct me if I’m wrong, but neither Ben nor Ed reposted the Henry snippet, did they? So, for future releases or announcements, if no one on her team is reposting, I will consider its a « Lana wishful thinking » kinda moment

I kinda didn’t make a big fuss of the date and took it with a big grain of salt because we were so far off from that release date (and we know our girl is not super good with the time a project takes) and was wondering if we were meant to learn about that date at that event almost as if it was a bootleg recording of her talking to executives that being said, posting Henry was another story for me at least

Their info mostly checks out… but is it because they really have contact or because they are so sometimes so vague it’s meant to happen, especially for Lana? Their last Lana ✅ was for Tough and their first post about it was « Lana Del Rey - in the summer », which isn’t much and not very elaborate tbh.

We should have doubted her date way more than we did I think. In January she said it’d be ready by September?!? I guess we are all rooting for her, that we’ll finally get a release date that sticks

The title and track list are out: it’s called Mahashmashana (it’s an Indian sacred burial ground form what I gathered). The title track is phenomenal: 9 minutes + with soaring orchestra, sax… The listening party hyped the people who were there. Lana should do it with Lasso, but I guess she’d be scared of leaks (which would be probably the case)

Father John Misty is releasing his album on Nov 22 (no Lana sadly, although I could very well imagine her in duo with FJM for the last track). I could hear it yesterday, through an early official streaming party. It is glorious. Epic tracks (many are well over six minutes), many different genres, orchestral (thanks, Drew and Jonathan Wilson). point is Lana can now take her sweet time with her LP: I think I just heard my favourite album of 2024

Nikki Lane X Lana album?

We know for sure Interscope was seriously considering that option (they conducted a survey on LanaDiscord of what songs, out of a preapproved bunch, fans would like to see on an unreleased collection) , but Lana’s managers said numerous times she was in charge of what projects went forward, so I guess not having an official unreleased collection is because she doesn’t want to. Which is a shame from a number / hit point of view.

For real! officially, all we know for sure is that the album is called Lasso, that’s its now coming 2025, that she dragged Jack to Nashville for four years to record it, and that two singles are planned by the end of the year. The rest is either speculation, manifestation, false rumours or bitching about Jack or Drew.

This Friday had loads of new singles, but next week seems quieter at the moment… (is there even a « big » LP coming out, except for the train wreck that is Katy’s flopback? ) So, a single from Lasso could happen I guess, but I’m not even as optimistic as you when it comes to the odds of it happening next Friday (I don’t think I get higher than 25% right now )

I honestly don’t believe anyone 💯 who is not our reliable all-knowers. If the perfume thing really happens, I’ll revisit those posts but at the moment, I only expect a Nikki collab on Lasso.

New FKA twigs is «(surprisingly) my new favourite release of the week, although there was a shit ton of new singles released this Friday.
