I kinda take everything an “insider” on Twitter / X says with a grain of salt: I feel like they’re often snowballing what others (like the most reliable ones on ATRL) have said earlier on, whether it’s verified or not. I mean, there can’t be that many people knowing what’s going on behind the scene, there’s not an audience when she records

I’ve been following Pinsider_ on Twitter / X for the last couple of days and even though I’m not convinced everything they say is necessarily verified, they’ve been providing some interesting “challenges” for Interscope with their spring releases. Let’s just say that until fall, this is a MASSIVE one for female singers overall: Ariana, Beyoncé, Gaga, Billie, Camilla, Dua, maybe Rihanna, Taylor… Many of those singers are with Interscope and they apparently struggle to give their stars some release dates to shine. The point of my post is that I don’t expect a Lana single from Lasso until summer. We’ll maybe get a single before that, but it probably would be from a side project / collab rather than Lasso content, if it’s the case. Lana and her team should really consider releasing 3 or 4 unreleased leaked songs this spring or this summer, with little to no fanfare or promotion, just like they did with SYTH, and let these songs do their magic. SyTH is already her 15th most streamed song on Spotify there is clearly a craving for those, probably much more than for Lasso.

Some Twitter account, it’s been posted many pages back. Not BoZ or Eclipse, but they seem somewhat reliable. They said there were no covers on Lasso and Sept 20 was the tentative release date (although they expect delays for sure once the album wasn’t finished at the time).

I think that insider said there were no covers. Unreleased and/or reworked songs are impossible not to get, I think.

Carey Mulligan was the most stunning of the evening IMO.

She mentioned September. i don’t know if Lasso (whether a lead or even the whole album) around Coachella would be a good move on her part, success-wise. True, Beyoncé is going country and has a number 1 country song, but will Lana’s country be equally successful? 🤷🏼 That’s why I’d prefer a non-album bop-ish song around Coachella that could do well in the weeks following her performance, rather than a “country song gamble”

Lead single would be nice if it’s summery… or a side project maybe? It’s the Quavo collab I have a very hard time imagining it could be for Lasso. Not that it’s impossible, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around it

Ariana and Taylor are two examples of artists that if you don’t like/ love already, nothing they will put out will charm you / change your mind about them. Rolling Stone did give the album a “instant classic” seal of approval, which makes me say it’s a good album, just not for me. anyways, every thread here that are non-Lana related do have their share of complain, even for albums or songs that have the general consensus being good. Nothing new on LB.

Gave it a listen and it confirms that Ariana is not for me. I like her voice, it’s well-made pop , but I really like very few of her songs overall. at least she got out of the “I want the D” trope she was stuck in on her early albums.

This is the best cover IMO. I’m honestly so glad Lana doesn’t do that. We’d all be bankrupted for sure. There are always a couple of different covers but no new songs, thank God.

BTD and NFR are both iconic American albums, where her stories aligned with what was happening socially and culturally. at the moment, I have the feeling (based essentially on Jack’s comment) that Lasso could become her third « best American record ».

Thank God for our wallets Lana isn’t Taylor, with her vinyls / CD having an exclusive track with each variant. At least Lana has the decency of having only a different cover with each vinyl. I know I couldn’t resist going bankrupt for a new Lana song… maybe not for Lasso, NGL, I’m still not 100% sold on the project yet, although I’m now curious by the direction it will take.
