    Charli XCX

I really hope XCX3 doesn't have 15 features or collaborations, like damn Charli, we get it you like to collaborate... but... you've already collaborated with all of these people... ABRA, Afrojack, Alex Metric, ALMA, BC Unidos, Bebe Rexha, Benga, Bhad Bhabie, Bleachers, Brooke Candy, BTS, Cardi B, Carly Rae Jepsen, Caroline Polachek, Christine And The Queens, Clean Bandit, CupcakKe, Danny Brown, David Guetta, Diplo, Dorian Electra, Elliphant, French Montana, Giorgio Moroder, Hannah Diamond, Herve Pagez, Icona Pop, Iggy Azalea, Jay Park, Jim-E Stack, Kim Petras, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Lil Xan, Lil Yachty, Lizzo, Miike Snow, MØ, Mura Masa, Mykki Blanco, Pabllo Vittar, Post Precious, RAYE, Rita Ora, Starkey, Starrah, Stefflon Don, Tinashe, Tommy Cash, Tommy Genesis, Tove Lo, Troye Sivan, Ty Dolla $ign, Uffie, Whethan, Wolf Alice and Yasutaka Nakata ...and that's just the officially released collaborations.

Can somebody send me a link to the best mix of Bounce we have? I had all the demos but lost them, just want one that sounds closest to the final.
  3. Ellie Goulding posted a photo of her and Lana together on her insta story in the last hour... They're both signed to Interscope / Polydor and managed by Ben, could it be a meeting about upcoming Interscope album releases?
  4. Yeah I know everybody likes to excuse her but it's not like she just dropped an insta post being like "just finished my next record can't wait for u all to hear it"... and that's the first we've heard about new music since LFL. We've had multiple interviews, 3 singles (the first released 9 months ago), we have the album title and she said it would be released at the beginning of 2019, we are now 6 months in. She knows she's messing us around.

If only she hadn't rush released Pop 2 and held it back til 2018. I'm seeing such a strong release that seems more cohesive... 01. Bounce (ft. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) 02. Out Of My Head (ft. Tove Lo) 03. Lucky 04. Party 4 U 05. 5 In The Morning 06. Delicious (ft. Tommy Cash) 07. Focus 08. Unlock It (ft. Kim Petras) 09. Backseat 10. Track 10

I agree that Number 1 Angel feels more thought out and polished and that's why I prefer it, I enjoy Pop 2 but some of the features really bother me and make me skip half the songs. For me this is how Pop 2 should've been: 01. Bounce (ft. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) 02. Out Of My Head (ft. Tove Lo) 03. Lucky 04. Party 4 U 05. I Got It (ft. Brooke Candy and cupcakKe) 06. Delicious (ft. Tommy Cash) 07. Tears 08. Unlock It (ft. Kim Petras) 09. Porsche (ft. MO) 10. Track 10
  7. At least the music and aesthetic would be good again

Yeah I know aha, just if every song has a feature I could see her being all like "They make up as much of the album as I do and I love collaborating so I thought it would be really cool to call it that". For real, I wish they'd stick the first 2 mixtapes on streaming... I'd die for Super Ultra on vinyl (maybe with new artwork though). Or it could just be a disc in like a coloured pvc sleeve with a sticker.

So we already know 1999 is not on the album and we don't need to worry about having 2 Troye collabs on the record. The album will come this year, no doubt. I still think October or November though with monthly singles being dropped to promote it. I'd personally like the album to have 13 tracks minimum (to match the other albums) but I can definitely see this being around 18 tracks, obviously it will have to be condensed for physical formats and I can't see Atlantic funding a 2CD / 3LP release. Imagine if that Governors Ball poster is a teaser for the title, I'd die of embarrassment if she called this album "Charli + special guests", but for real she better not ditch XCX.

I understand her excitement of being able to release an album finally and doing singles and performing new material etc. I really do! I'm just worried that she's overexposing herself and therefore killing her own hype... Blame It On Your Love didn't even get a chance, cos Spicy came straight after with a music video and took over the promo. Spicy seemed to be out for a minute and then we get Gone, debuted live and teasers of artwork being shot etc. And now there's hype for this song with Chris, she risks killing it by performing another new song next week with Troye. Like Blame It On Your Love hasn't even hit radio or had the music video released and we're nearing the premiere of a 3rd album track alongside an officially released collaboration?

This! Honestly, I said this earlier but she should definitely do a commercial album with Blame It On Your Love being the lead and more radio friendly songs, release it and promote it and then do a follow up mixtape with all the collaborations and more experimental music. Have the mainstream album out on CD, do the performances and music videos etc, give the fans the pop album campaign they want. Then drop the mixtape at the end of the year and get another double vinyl released.

Ugh, one of the reasons I enjoyed Number 1 Angel more than Pop 2, was cos of the solo songs... I love Pop 2 but personally I think there are too many collaborations and I don't want the album to be the same. I don't listen to 1999 cos of Troye and I always skip Blame It On Your Love once the Lizzo verse hits. I really hope she doesn't end up performing the majority of the album before it gets released, I know she did this with Sucker cos of the delay and (no pun intended) it sucked. We've just gotten Spicy with a music video, give us the Blame It On Your Love music video and only perform Gone for now, then release it in a few weeks please.

I thought she said Taxi was Sophie's song though? And that's why we didn't get it, then Sophie teased a release and maybe they've been in talks about putting it out and that's why Charli was saying imagine if Taxi got a release? Also, I think we'll get the Blame It On Your Love music video end of this week and Gone sometime at the end of June. Boys won't be on the album, she said Blame It On Your Love was the beginning of the new era and in one of her latest interviews she mentioned the album and they spoke about 1999 and referred to it as stand-alone single.

Didn't Sucker get 5 music videos? And nearly a second tour aha
  15. Let's not speak the release date being November - March into existence... Also, you know that poetry book isn't going to be $1 right?
  16. No it's the Hope press release, saying the album is coming in Mid 2019, like somebody above said that's likely July or August. It's just frustrating if that has been the plan since January and yet she still refuses to confirm or deny any rumours to fans. The release of HIAB in June is hypothetical, but it could be a possibility. It just bugs me that she has probably known this since MAC and VB dropped but then she'll act dumb or surprised at our comments. Reading her artist page on the UK Universal website and they have Lana Del Rey A.K.A. Lizzy Grant (mentioning a possibility of re-release) and Kill Kill as her debut album and debut EP. It's likely that was written in 2012 when a reissue was on the cards and they just update it each year to add new album info (last updated with Honeymoon), however I do hope she'd consider putting it out on streaming or even like a limited edition vinyl for the 10 year anniversary.
  17. Reading that press release, damn I'm not even ready for her to drop HIAB next month with the album coming in July and act like we knew that was happening since September. Like if this has been the plan all along and March 29th was never more than a rumour why didn't she just address it on social media. She tries to be mysterious and it's just plain annoying at this point.

I'm excited, and lowkey glad that Spicy is coming this month, that means June is likely to bring the BIOYL music video, Spicy music video and a new song (probably Gone).
  19. I'd expect something like this... 01. Cruel World 02. Cherry 03. Pretty When You Cry 04. White Mustang 05. Blue Jeans 06. Born To Die 07. Mariners Apartment Complex 08. Summertime Sadness 09. Ride 10. Video Games 11. Venice Bitch 12. National Anthem 13. High By The Beach 14. West Coast 15. Off To The Races
  20. Maybe she wants to take a break from her career and try living a normal life, the last 7 years have been a whirlwind for her when you think about and all she's done is worked, working as May Jailer, Lizzy Grant, recording hundreds of songs to then get a deal and recognition, to then throw herself back into working non-stop. Maybe, just maybe she does see this as a transition period in her life and maybe she's scared, hence the desire to hang on to NFR and drag out the release. Once its out, its out thats it... She doesn't do singles or visuals after the album anymore, so the final release is all she has left. Like everything else this is just speculation, but I could see her wanting to take time out after this album, she's maybe just hesitant?
  21. I blame LFL, like Ultraviolence and Honeymoon were her artistic peak... But it's clear the label wanted something more commercial after Honeymoon's era and the fans were always begging for a BTD 2.0. In many ways LFL was a BTD 2.0, a return to the pop sound, the glamorous visuals and music videos. Then the collabs and the happiness thing etc all felt like it was forced to make Lana more appealing to the GP. And it worked, Love and LFL were more successful than the stuff she'd released since WC, the album went #1 around the world and she did a world tour. Now the label know she's capable of doing this she's trapped. Look at how Doin Time is being promoted on Spotify and stuff and sent to radio, her label want more upbeat and pop sounding music. NFR is not that.
  22. Realistically, other than label contracts (I'm not sure what her situation is) is there anything stopping her going independent? She's a name, she's built a dedicated fan base, I could easily see her breaking out and going indie, I think that freedom would really help her.
  23. Has this been a self-sabotage project the whole time, kinda like a rebellion against the label? Ben made her change the album cover, we know that for sure. He also said she was still finishing the record and recording a month after she confirmed it was complete and mastered. Maybe she agreed to do promo and an official single only if she could release some "fan singles" first, she said the 3 songs we got were her favourites and maybe that was her way of guaranteeing they'd see a release. Maybe deep down she knew the album would be pushed back and that's why she's been so vague. Also could explain why she used the HIAB music video and teased nearly the whole song, that way the label couldn't really use it again and release it as a lead single. Like people said, she used the Miss Daytona account to confirm that she didn't know when it was coming, why not do that through her account? Then getting nostalgic about Honeymoon, which she calls her vanity record and was the last time she made and released music for herself, since LFL was for the fans and the label.
