I'm so excited for this release and I love the new era aesthetics... However, it was kinda sad when Annie waited til she was off air to ask Charli if she could ask about the album, like she must be known for not being able to get her album released and it was nice of Annie to not put her on the spot on radio, but it just made me sad. Also at this point, I either want a conscise 13 track album or a 2 disc, 40 track album with all the singles since Afterparty.

I'm so glad that the XCX logo has gone on this release... I hope that means the album has a new creative direction
  3. I low key want this to just drop, like give us a Honeymoon 2.0 era. Release Doin' Time as a stand alone or whatever and then drop Happiness Is A Butterfly (I don't even mind the video anymore), announced the album release for June. Do a couple of cute vinyl variants and a cassette. Then she move on from NFR and focus on her poetry book over summer.

I meant UK sorry, it seems to be the only chart that has an impact on her album releases since 2015. I imagine if ATAP and Boys had of cracked top 20 here we would've gotten XCX3. She really stole Iggy's aesthetic and ran with it for the Sucker era aha I hate how much she ignores Doing It, it's the only Sucker single that has a PC mix too!

It's a difficult one because with Sucker she got 2 top 10 singles as the lead artist and then Boom Clap and Fancy were global hits that year... I love Sucker but it is the reason XCX3 kept getting stalled cos ATAP and Boys didn't break the top 20 and follow the success. Plus wasn't it the success of the poppier songs on Sucker that pushed her or inspired her to make a full pop album? Then it was the delay of XCX3 (caused by the labels expectations after Sucker) that made her create the mixtapes. But at the same time, had we had another True Romance, with no singles charting and only a small audience she could've potentially been dropped by her label. I think all of her releases have had an impact on her career and we wouldn't have one without the other.
  6. I genuinely believe this album would've been iconic had it came after Honeymoon but had a similar roll out to LFL (minus the delay).
  7. Honestly, If she can't release albums, I wish she'd do more singles or EP style things. Like "Best American Record / Yosemite" last summer "Mariners Apartment Complex / Venice Bitch" September 2018 "Hey Blue Baby / I Must Be So Stupid..." November 2018 That way we still get music but she doesn't have to do the promo or drag out the album cycle.
  8. Oh yeah, that's why it's confusing cos her team have already said that the next song released is the lead single, yet Lana seems to be under the impression that VB is the lead or more promo singles are being released.
  9. Nothing makes sense, there doesn't seem to be any communication between Lana and her label. The press release we got in January stated that there would be 3 "fan singles" released followed by the lead single at some point. I'm assuming the fan singles are MAC, VB and HIAD... But then Lana told Zane that VB was the lead single from the record. Also in the ELLE interview she said that there were still a couple more songs she wanted to put out before the record. She told Annie Mac that the album would be out at the beginning of 2019, then we had the whole March 29th situation and then didn't somebody from her team say mid-year (suggesting a summer release). Lana then using her Ms Daytona account to say that she doesn't know when it's gonna come. She made it clear that the poetry book would come before the album since the beginning but then stated that the poetry book is gonna be released in a couple of months? Lana then said that the album was complete in late December and again confirmed this in an interview in late January. Yet Ben said that she was still recording and finishing the album sometime in early March. Anyways if we take the press release information as fact then the next song released will be the lead single?
  10. The fact that I started the 2nd year of my degree on September 29th, two weeks after we heard MAC and VB, and now I'm finishing second year on May 12th and NFR is still not in sight. I cannot with Lana. Will we have the album before I return for 3rd year in September?
  11. How this era really should've went... 12.09 - Mariners Apartment Complex (buzz single with visual - introduction to new era) 18.09 - Venice Bitch (buzz single with visual - announce the album title and confirm the lead single is coming soon, confirm poetry book) 26.10 - Happiness Is A Butterfly (lead single with music video - announce album release date as March 29th) 09.01 - Hope Is A Dangerous Thing... (buzz single with album pre-order and tracklist reveal) (between January and March tease poems etc.) 16.03 - Cinnamon (second single with music video) 29.03 - NORMAN FUCKING ROCKWELL (album release) April - Violets Bent Over... (poetry book release) Festival Tour

Think about the timeline though... April 2013 was when True Romance was officially released, we know that Boom Clap was recorded in some form at that point. It was around this time that I Love It had become a hit (despite being released for a year) and therefore that makes sense to try and tack it on to the album. But Boom Clap was most likely just a demo and had no reason to be considered for that album at that time. December 2013 was when she released SuperLove which was the first official taste of her second album. It's most likely that it's around this time that she began pitching Boom Clap to other artists. Since Hilary Duff had been offered it sometime before Charli released it. June 2014, Boom Clap finally gets a release as a single from the soundtrack, it becomes more successful then anybody ever imagined and then they rework a version of the song for Sucker. They then delay Sucker to late 2014 / early 2015 because of the inclusion and success of Boom Clap. To me, the fact that it wasn't even originally part of Sucker despite being released suggests that it was never considered to be a part of True Romance.
  13. I think she definitely needs time to ask to herself whether she wants this anymore, but there hasn't been a decline in material. Like she's only getting better and for me this could be one her best albums. Yes, Lust For Life had it's flaws but that was her attempt at recreating Born To Die and it was intended to be more accessible. I don't think her album will be half-arsed but I do think she either needs to decide whether she's an artist who puts their all into a campaign or just does a lowkey single, album release in a month.

I think she might have just gotten confused about when Boom Clap was released, cos she pitched it to other artists in 2014 before she even released it as her song and True Romance had already been out a year. Surely if Boom Clap was considered for True Romance then SuperLove would've been too? I think she got mixed up with talking to her label about putting Boom Clap on Sucker after it blew up. Also, random but Spotify now has Dreamer listed as Dreamer - Compound Version, what does that mean? It sounds the same?
  15. It's still so strange to me that she had such a burning desire to be a star, the reincarnations of her persona and image and finally Lana Del Rey clicked. She has one of the most anticipated albums of the year just sitting there. She's dropped 3 singles in the last 8 months and all of them have had amazing responses and acclaim from fans and critics. Yet now she seems hellbent on killing the momentum. Like is this a form of self-destruction? Either way, we can't win, we just have to wait this out. People saying they'll boycot the album so she does more promotion next time... That won't happen. She'll throw it in our faces and be like "the last album was my favourite and people didn't like it, look at the numbers. I'm just gonna retire and make music for myself."
  16. This thread should be retitled "Songs that Lana said would be released or would have music videos".
  17. Didn't she also say in that 2017 livestream when she announced the unreleased collection album that Hollywood would be "coming out sometime soon"
  18. She said that Cola was gonna be the second single from Paradise and that there would be a music video but I think it got cancelled in favour of Tropico

Does it? I didn't realise, sorry!
  20. I'm so over this album now. Give me a 7" double a-side of Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch. Then either drop the album or move on to the next one. I always imagined the title track being chaotic kinda like Off To The Races or Cruel World.

I really wish they'd put When I Was Older and Come Out And Play on the standard album instead of !!!!!!! and Goodbye. Or just worked them into the tracklist and kept the intro and outro.
  23. At least she sounds like Lana Del Rey again, like that seem dumb but there's passion in those captions, she's using her own language again. No more of that "haiku 4 the kids" shit.
  24. I love Honeymoon man... it feels like her secret album. Like a real vanity project and in years to come it will get what it deserves. So weird going to HMV etc. They stock all her albums but I haven't seen Honeymoon on vinyl instore since it's release.
