  1. Thank you! I've said this before and got ridiculed lol. I feel like Lana used to be so effortlessly cool, especially during the Born To Die era. But now she kind of lost her "mystic"/mysterious aura.
  2. They look really cute. It's crazy some people want them to have kids because that's the first image that came to my mind when watching these pictures. And what about that guy who kind of looked like Emile Haynie? Jonathan... Has she ever written a song about him? If they actually ever dated
  3. Yes. They're pushing this message of empowerment but in the wrong form. I'm not talking about Ariana or any of the other girls, but the people in charge. There might be some who are genuinely trying to change the industry but in general they're selling a product. Which is understandable since it's their job, the problem is people buy into it. Beyonce, as much of a phony people say she is, has better lyrics, Survivor being an example. It's saying "you hurt me, but I got over it and I'm doing better so no hard feelings". Yes, I'm over analising pop songs but just because it's mainstream it doesn't have to be empty or rushed.
  4. This song might be old news already, but still. I dislike this fake "feminist" concept of looking down on men, playing with their feelings, treating them like "boys", etc. It would be ok if it was an ordinary playful song, but we all know where they're coming from with this message. Hollywood couldn't care less about men, women or anything, it's just pandering. I'm also suspicious of so-called feminists who openly talk about being with taken men.
  5. When she did that interview (last year?) where she spoke about the things she's been doing all this time like the pilot thing, didn't she mention painting too or did I just imagine it.
  6. I feel like she's in a better place emotionally, hence the changed lyrics for TNBAR. And does anyone know why hasn't the background picture changed yet? We have so many more beautiful pictures this era.
  7. She loved Doin' Time so much that she included it in the album and recorded a music video for it. I have the feeling that that was one of the things that got her "excited". So I'll be glad if she's influenced by it.
  8. It's like a combination of all her previous work. The layering vocals remind me a lot of her Lizzy Grant days ("Turn the radio on, dancing to a pop song"). The lyrics of the love songs are more like the Born To Die repertoire. The guitars and piano are a strong presence like in Ultraviolence, Blake kind of has his signature sound at this point. Honeymoon really set the tone for her singing style, of which I'm glad. Also some of LFL could have fit well in this in my opinion (13 Beaches, White Mustang) and she kept the theme of broading her perspective to the current events of the world or more specifically, the USA. But it's interesting she talks a lot about her country yet the album seems heavily influenced by Britpop, The Beatles and such. Well, to sum it up it's a 10/10 lol. How To Disappear suprised me though. I prefer the live acapella version.
  9. I haven't listened to either song yet (or any leak) so I hope The Greatest is as good as people say
  10. Not sure if someone else mentioned it but the video of her reading poetry seems old. Her face kind of looks like in the Lust For Life songs' snippets.
  11. I once read a theory that Old Money is dedicated to her parents. For some reason it stuck and that's the "official" meaning in my mind. It makes sense to me, particularly with lines like "the kids were young and pretty" (her and Chuck?).
  12. Don't laugh but I think the trailer was emotive (almost cried when Venice Bitch came up) and original. I haven't seen or heard something so authentic coming from her in a while.
  13. The last time I was so genuinely impressed with Lana was the day she released West Coast. I admit that, as much as I loved ALL of the songs we heard so far, there wasn't a lot of excitement to me. But this cover really set the tone, it's much more creative than any "fanart" ever.
  14. She's been looking gorgeous lately and you can tell she knows. And, in a way, I'm glad she's remained relatively lowkey this era. Looking back on it, the whole "witchcraft" thing was a little embarrassing (but mostly because she wasn't able to pull it off out of laziness... BTD Lana would have killed it )
  15. I think not even Ariana is vegan anymore. Lana is a vegetarian acording to her dad. Also if I'm not crazy I remember seeing a picture of her where everyone was eating meat but she had fries on her plate or something.
  16. I kind of like how Lana dances, even if it comes off as sloppy to others. It blends in well with her own natural graceful movements. Her dancers on the other hand are too try-hard and dramatic (not in a good way).
  17. I have a silly question, but since I'm not a native English speaker... does she actually sing "losers" during Venice Bitch live? lol
  18. It's funny because when I became a fan around 2011/12 (when she released high budget videos, seemed determined and had this "pristine" aura about her) I thought she was one of those people who are super hard working and disciplined.
  19. Sometimes it feels like her dancers act as if they're the stars or something . But maybe it's just my impression.
  20. I genuinely think some people are overreacting about the "drought". Lana already dropped many songs (some of them already on her top best) and snippets like Mariner's Appartment Complex, Venice Bitch, Happiness Is a Butterfly and more, performed a new "country song" and How To Disappear. Now a cover. All in a short amount of time. It's like people are never fully satisfied. It's the Honeymoon era where NOTHING literally happened. And remember when she started to be more active on social media during the Lust For Life era and people thought it was weird and "out of character"? I guess the thing that produces discontentment is the lack of big productions. I'm sure if she released a nice video for Venice Bitch and promoted it properly, her fans would be way happier than with just a bunch of loose songs. It's the "unofficialness" of it all that doesn't result in any sort of excitement. But it would be unfair to say there has been a lack of content coming from her.
  21. Her vocals while singing 'I'd like to hold her head underwater' qualifies as one of her 'Best LDR Musical Moments'
  22. Really? Interesting. I remember when she retweeted or replied to someone on twitter who said it's weird how people think they're gay for being too affectionate with females friends. Like she relates but is just straight. Anyone remembers? I'm not questioning her, just wondering.
  23. Not to be rude, but Gucci Guilty smells kind of basic/boring. I expected more, considering Lana was the face for it.
