Yes it’s true ADIAML had potential but she squandered it all on the ballads… 5 ballads out of 10 songs is not feasible especially when the production is all the same, the melodies are recycled and the lyrics are downright bad She needed to have all the songs have the same production as ADIAML/Venus Fly Trap and maybe just one ballad or two to balance it out

EH and LF do not have a trademark sound cause they were written and produced by other people, so obviously she wasn't gonna include those since it's not "Marina"

All her album rollouts were a mess and she scrapped a lot of amazing songs for no reason at all and when she repackaged clxi and clxii she only added like 2 songs and that was it she has so much scrapped material that could see the light of the day and we would EAT it up but she doesn’t want money I guess??

lets not compare fiona and marina tho... ftbc is a masterpiece, adiaml is a decent album but I can see why he (and other reviewers like pitchfork) would give it a low rating half of the album is ballads and from the point of view of someone who's not a stan i can see why they don't appreciate them especially cause they're all identical and the songs that had potential like venus fly trap are 2:30......

I think her single greatest achievement is reviving the concept of dream pop and making it the leading genre in pop for the 2010 decade and also being the poster child for the sad girl movement and Tumblr EDIT: not that her other achievements are lower it’s just that shaping the pop landscape is kind of a big deal IMO I’m not taking away from her songwriting abilities etc
