Did y’all know MARINA has more monthly listeners on Spotify than CHARLI????? I was shocked ??? like charli has multiple top 10 hits and 6 albums and she can’t surpass Marina??? that’s weird edit: she also has MORE followers WTF

FROOT was Marina at the peak of her creativity, she truly put all of herself in that record and you can feel it in every single aspect the visuals are amazing, FROOT’s cover is probably one my favorite covers of all time and every single shoot/single cover from that era feels inspired but at the same time original and creative the tracks are all incredibly cohesive sonically and thematically and she showcases the entirety of her voice range, from her deep, androgynous low range (Happy, Solitaire, Froot) to her light, bright high range (Blue, Immortal, Savages) plus the rollout was actually interesting and she managed to carefully craft every aspect of it Take the vinyl for instance, she released a black vinyl to represent coal and a white vinyl to represent diamonds (she mentions coal and diamonds multiples times, both in TFJ and in FROOT) the froot of the month things was also really interesting and engaging and showed she actually cared about what she did i can’t speak for all of Ancient Dreams but from what we know from this rollout she shown us she doesn’t really care about engaging with her fans the same way she did the music is also not up to par with froot so no there’s no topping froot but at least it’s an improvement

do y’all even know what it means being in a different key?? no one on earth would have an instrumental in a different key than the voice it would literally clash

yeah but usually when people get mixed it’s bc they have some things in common... Charli and Marina are both British singers who made alt pop music in the early 10s and were heavily associated with each other (and at one point even friends) and they did look alike at one point future, lil yachty and ASAP rocky are 3 different people and they look COMPLETELY different ???? the only thing they have in common is they’re black and there some genre overlap but not that much Like the only way you could “mix them up” is if you thought all black man looked and sounded the same which is.... kinda racist like come on

I mean if we take all her lead singles: Obsessions Radioactive Froot HH Man’s World I personally rank them like this 1. Froot 2. Radioactive 3. Obsessions 4. Man’s World 5. HH Froot is undoubtedly one her of best songs if not THE best song in her discog

Ok I kinda agree with that, I’m sure she *wanted* to be on the nose, at least to a certain degree, but with as little fan base as she has and with her fans being (almost) exclusively lgbtq+ people and straight women I think it’s unnecessary to be so “bold” cause it’s something that we all either know or are aware about What I’m trying to say is her “message” is not gonna reach that far beyond us and the way her fanbase is set up it’s something that we likely already know and it’s not gonna be as much powerful i don’t know if it makes sense

I don’t get why her “fans” want her to burn out artistically so bad three albums in the span of one year is NOT feasible for anybody let alone somebody like Taylor who’s not Fiona Apple/Kate Bush/etc... like 30 songs in 6 months is more than enough especially cause half of evermore is ugly fillers who nobody listens to anymore and a third album is going to be even worse

isn't she? it would make no sense to release an album out of the blue without another single dua lipa had a great rollout schedule A single out in november A single out in february a single out in march AND the album out a week later (she moved up the release of a week but still) if marina had followed the same schedule she would've already released the album two weeks ago i think marina isn't interested in a good rollout schedule and she just wants to put out her music on her own terms, which is fine its just a bit meh

i hate how melanie has a lot of good ideas for melodies/concepts but she waters them down to dozens of songs that will never see the light of the day, i'd rather have just 10-12 SOLID songs (that she releases) rather than 20+ songs with some good parts in them that she ends up scrapping cause on their own are too weak or whatever

do we actually know 100% that Marina stopped following Lana exactly after the QFTC? If she did, there was definitely something more to it than just that Lana still follows Marina and we know she uses IG so idk did she not see Marina stopped following her? its so confusing wait what??? GMTM is imho one of her best projects (even if we don’t know if it’s actually her or just fa made, but if it is it’s extremely well made tbh) the songs are very harsh production wise but I personally love them

Yeah but what I’m saying is Marina doing things by herself doesn’t equal bad... FROOT and TFJ are just as good if not better than EH on many aspects (definitely lyrically) I agree that Savages is very close to PTP and in fact I don’t have any issues with it aside from some one liners that I think could have been worded better (although Savages is much better IMO)
