y'allll need to listen to Cindy Lee! She's the drag persona and music project of Patrick Flegel (ex frontman of Women). She does psychedelic pop, lo-fi, etc... veeeery reminiscent of Ultraviolence IMO! Lots of distortion and guitars and stuff. Her new album, Diamond Jubilee, is considered one of the best albums of 2024. im sorry but i think that’s your issue.. I find ocean boulevard to have plenty of replay value, especially the more “verbose” songs like Fingertips or Kintsugi. Maybe you just didn’t connect with it as much which is okay. in fact, ocean boulevard contains some of her best melodies ever IMO and the same cannot be said for ADIAML whose melodies are pretty uninspired and stale

No she owns the masters to all her music, she payed for the mixing and mastering of FROOT out of her own pockets and I’m pretty sure she said back during TFJ that she chose her label because it was the most beneficial to her. yes the song we have is basically a stem edit AFAIK because that’s what leaked (the stems). I don’t think the final is much different but certainly not identical. IMO she just doesn’t wanna release it and that’s it

im not talking about commercial success, dua lipa is obviously very successful, I'm talking about artistic integrity. dua lipa is not an artist, she's a singer who's found success because she's smart and was able to ride the right musical trends but that's it. radical optimism tanked cause she has no artistic vision. she employed DANNY L HARLE and KEVIN PARKER who are some of the most talented producers out there and still the result was generic. people like madonna, lana, charli xcx, kylie minogue, etc... they are artist. they can enjoy commercial success but are still driven by a genuine need to make art. dua lipa wants to have fun and dance and that's cool! but obviously your records will tank eventually same thing for Addison. her music is definitely cool and she's really smart but i don't see an "artist" behind her projects. that can obviously change
