To be fair Halsey has always been criticized for her poor writing skills, but it’s more noticeable now because of the themes IMO. Badland’s “bad” lyricism went well with the immature/childish/tumblr tone of the album so it was less noticeable. Now she’s talking about being on her deathbed and it’s just harder to gloss over imo
