"Ultraviolence" to premier tomorrow on BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe!
Poison Ivy replied to TIARNZUS's topic in Latest News
Aw, it was cute. -
This is such a good interview!! I love this side of Lana I wish I'd get to see it more. I hope she also explores herself in some of the songs on Ultraviolence, rather than just the men in her life/ her romantic relationships.

I wonder what attracts these stupid kids to Lana, it's bizarre to me. -
Lana Del Rey performs "Ultraviolence" (Song) in Vancouver

My username is becoming more relevant I think I prefer Ultraviolence over Shades of Cool lyrically, some parts are really good. -
I give this shitty advice in like every thread and probably most ppl wouldn't like this position, but if you go far right/far left of the barrier, even front row you won't experience the moshing/pushy people. The view was fine for me and I could be delusional about making eye contact with Lana a bunch of times.

I really like this interview, it feels honest rather than a lot of pretentious stuff that used to come out of other ones. I think she sounds good on paper for the first time in a long time! It's interesting that teacher is so inappropriate tbh but 'is it wrong???' "I'm not a provocateur. I love to write. The written word is one of the last forms of magic we have. I love rhyming and writing. For years my focus was on building a beautiful visual world and beautiful sonic world and yeah, having such a strong reaction was ... surprising? I don't know." - that's why I don't have much love for pepsi cola pussy/fucked my way to the top, I understand the song will probably be a fuck you to the critics or whatever, but it's not Lana. Also I really like what she says about writing "It's this feeling that comes over you, like falling in love," it's true.

I guess, I mean I'm easily amused I'm too lazy to watch the semi-finals though
-
Gonna watch the final, it's hilarious.

I kinda like it, she looks gorgeous. Tbh I'm glad it's not something try-hard like that cigarette pic, this one is simple but sort of nice.

Ultraviolence Tracklist Discussion

Fucked My Way Up To The Top is like hearing 'my pussy tastes like pepsi cola' is a Lana lyric for the first time... but I guess that worked out in the end. -
TV in Black and White/Living Without You is my all time fave, right now I really love Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight cause it's fresher

Oh wow I can actually understand what she's saying in that new mix of West Coast (??) buuuuut *sonically* I like the first one the most. -

Am I the only one who's surprised at how aggressive Lana fans are??? The music is so calm lol ~ it really puts me off seeing her live. My main advice is the far left/right parts of the barrier are less violent and you get a decent/close view but u won't see the video playing behind her and she won't come there at the end, just teasingly close. But it's better than being stuck 3rd-4th row in the middle esp if you're short

Lol compared to her usual interviews she was actually less awkward, it's rly bad when people ask you long questions that have rly short answers don't ask how I know that -
Omg I love this, I used to be so into WT when I was 13

Lana's concert at Comerica Theatre trashed by angry reviewer
Poison Ivy replied to Maxwell's topic in Shows
where do u live I need to move there this guy obvs doesn't like her, but I guess it's interesting to see an outside perspective. maybe Lana doesn't put on a show but I don't think that's what she's about. Anyway, personally the only thing I dislike about her shows is how dreadful the crowd is. -

It's very sad if she does seriously think like that ~ I have a feeling she just likes the the idea of men like that or relationships like that, I don't think Barrie is that way but who knows. She always sings about men who don't seem to be him which is why I think it's in her head more than anything. That's probably why she hires assholes like Swallow for her videos -

Ha, I do wonder how the general public will perceive it, but I don't see how people who know AKA/her unreleased songs can be surprised by lines like 'he hit me and it felt like a kiss' (unless you're surprised she keeps taking lyrics from other songs). But she might've meant she expressed something along those lines in the songs, not that exact lyric? Anyway 'beat me and tell me no one will love me, better than you do' 'I like em tough and mean, Jim is the worst that I've ever seen' , Push Me Down, Afraid, Backfire; I think she always had the tendency to romanticize violence, and this is ultraviolence after all Not that I agree with the sentiment behind it myself, but I find it interesting when used in art not in real life. -
after listening to it a lot I really like it! It's very entrancing and the chorus is just beautiful, it sounds so good. I see why it's compared to Gods & Monsters but it's so much better (it took me like 10 months to get into G&M)

O I thought she was singing about Barrie but she's singing about a Cuban guy who smokes

Just woke up, West Coast is dreamy ~ sounds pretty good
