I did a lot of digging today and finally managed to find a lot of interesting things that we didn't know about the May jailer- Lizzy Grant days from the old Myspace. It would be great if you guys appreciate this, it took forever to put together, haha. Most of this is information taken from pictures, they'll be at the end, and the picture containing whatever information will have the picture number next to it in parentheses except performance dates, there are way too many to put with pictures, ask if you need the pictures for the performance dates and I'll PM them. Speaking to xinmsn at the Four Seasons Hotel yesterday, Lana was her soft-spoken self but expressed shock at the hordes of fans who turned up at the Mulberry storefront to welcome her. “It was wild. The fans were respectful but excited that I was there. I thought we were just going to cut the ribbon,” said the singer who also has a Mulberry bag produced in her name.



“I remember seeing things on Twitter when people knew I was coming but I didn’t know why they cared. When I saw everyone yesterday, I wish I had gotten to talk to them more but I did manage to say Hi to a lot of people along the way,” Lana explained her regret at being unable to speak to her fans outside the more as bodyguards moved her from place to place.
 

 
 
 
Lana’s fans will understand the inspiration behind her music, which she calls as “filmic” and “art”. Lana recalled hearing Elvis Presley for the first time and said, “It was so different from what was on the radio today”. She counts artistes such as Bob Dylan and Kurt Cobain to be her inspirations but she is particular about emulating the freedom the ‘60s and the ‘90s embodied.
 
“It was a more hopeful feeling, I try to keep it alive. I like tradition but I was really moved by the idea of being independent and artistic. I couldn’t believe that it was possible where I could have a life that was based around making art. It was such an exciting idea, for me, that I could one day be a real artist and not have to do anything else,” Lana said.
 

 
If you are wondering if the rumours over her collaborating with Lady Gaga for upcoming album ARTPOP are true, Lana denies it flat out to us. She also denied media recently saying she was going to stop making albums. “I just said that I was starting to write soundtracks for movies, so that’s where my focus was. I don’t know though. When I was younger, my muse came to me and I felt really on fire to write a lot, but now my muse comes a lot less often,” Lana said. She will be writing soundtracks for two movies out early next year.
 
She said her new EP, Paradise, was born out of writing a new song every month for this year. While Lana said Paradise has a more “natural” vibe with the omission of hip-hop beats, she admitted her music comes “half from a place of darkness but half from happiness for my future”. She gets her laughs though from Tumblr, remarking how she trawled through the site last night. In her own words, “I don’t always go on Tumblr but sometimes I do because the people on there are really funny.”




Paradise will be released on November 12, 2012.

This is going to be a bit long and personal and dramatic, but Lana's music and lyrics did a lot for me lately and acknowledging it in writing is a way to say thank you!
 
 
 

I have written this before, but I think Jimmy G was a minor character in her life, as far as a real relationship was concerned. I think she developed a crush on him after meeting him at clubs etc., and as she said in some interview, she was impressed by his rock-star credentials, but realized later that he was only modestly famous. I think the more substantial relationships were with K, and MM. As far as songs are concerned, many of the early songs are about K, while the majority of the later ones are about MM (obviously she refers to both of them in some songs). Jimmy is the inspiration of only a few songs but she intentionally confuses matters by choosing BS for two of the videos, even though the character in Blue Jeans or VG or BTD has nothing to do with what we know of JG. Instead all the three songs of the trilogy seem most closely based on MM's character, with aspects of K's criminality thrown in, but mixed in with JG's looks (tattoos).

Just because he's not famous in the US, doesn't mean he's not well-known. I like Lana + Barrie but IDK how they do it w/ the long distance.. looking at them kinda feels like a throw back 2 a couple from the 60s/70's. Also, kind of Lana Sleuthing related but I think "Lucky Ones" is about him b/c its like the only happy song on the album annnnnd I hope they're happy!!!
