I've seen a lot of you complaining about Cinnamon Girl lacking bass but probably my favorite thing about the song is how 'thin' the beat sounds. Like, it sounds kind of like she's just tapping with her nails on a table or like castanets and I just love that sounds.

AMAZING ALBUM! Only songs that I don't love are Happy Not Knowing and Automatically In Love, but I'm sure they will eventually grow on me. But can we please talk about the career highlight that is For Sure?

I honestly really liked the song but I guess I'm just a sucker for anything produced by Mirwais. American Life is definitely my favorite Madonna album so I'm so excited that she's working with him again.

I'm looking back at this thread and it feels kind of melancholy. I can't help feeling that something has changed with Lana. Perhaps it's just because I'm getting older, but while Ultraviolence and Honeymoon literally changed my life, her recent music and Lust for Life is just... pretty good i guess.

That might be true. I guess it just seems to me that rich, white people in L.A. have this weird surface level obsession with all things related to religion, spiritualism or the occult. But perhaps that just applies to rich, white people in general.

I'm so fascinated by the Californian version of religion, it just seems so weird and superficial. But yeah, Lana really needs to leave LA asap.

Sadly, I really didn't like this album. I found the production extremely generic and dated and the melodies were incredibly boring. Also, I find her voice increasingly annoying. I wish she would sing more in her lower range. I'll give the album a few more listens and I guess I'm still looking forward to FEAR, but I can't help feeling that perhaps her music just isn't for me anymore, which is disappointing since I've loved just about everything she's released up to this point. :/
