Yes when the songs were... Like... Successful... No but kidding aside "Harleys in Hawai", while an interesting approach for her in terms of sound, did nothing for her. I'm not a fan of "Never Really Over", but that's just me. It had an OK success but I wouldn't put my trust in that song to carry the album sales, that's for sure. With that logic, why not include "Never Worn White" or even "Cozy Little Christmas" on the album ? I'm not trying to sound rude, I'm just trying to understand the strategy behind that release. The title and album cover all point to a "theme" album, one that I would assume will deal with the difficulty of always trying to seem glad when you're carrying something heavy inside. But sure, let's include HIH, the fans won't mind and it takes up 1 spot, so only 10 to good ! NFR had a bunch of singles prior to the album's release but at least all of them had been written with the album in mind. And while the album is a great body of work and wouldn't sound the same without them, I (personal opinion) couldn't help but feel like skipping those songs because I had played them over and over. On the other hand, I can admit that music consumption has changed. Streaming has changed the release of singles and albums and EPs, so I'm not stating I'm right.

Is she alright ? Why does she include multiple old songs in her tracklist, and what is that cover ? I'm sorry but, in my opinion, she completely lost her artistic vision after "Teenage Dream" (the album - and not including the Complete Confection edition). I did like some songs like "Chained to the Rhythm" and "365" though but they don't feel "Katy". Anywhoo, all the best to her and I hope she's enjoying every moment of her pregnancy !

I honestly don't know how I would react if I saw her in a shop... Of course, she's a human being and she deserves to have her space then again what's the harm in a short conversation and words of appreciation (hopefully not in a starstruck manner )

Kinda outta luck VS You Can Be The Bwoss

I don’t want to make comments about somebody’s appearance, I just wished she realized how beautiful she is and leave it at that. BTD-Paradise-UV eras... on a different note, her make up bugs me sometimes, the way she does the shape of her lip and the lipstick color she chooses. But interested in seing more photos with this blonde look !

I don’t know, I listened to the post and I agree with her. Was the original post clumsy ? Perhaps a bit but I did agree with what she said. Now, as someone else said, I’m waiting for her to be crucified for naming Twigs. Everybody praised her dancing on the pole. And sure it was a nice esthetic performance with meaning behind it. But So was what she did with Tropico (like it or not). That being said, she should just enjoy the life she built for herself. The media has always been vicious to her and her best intentions won’t be enough to change enough. *plays « Please don’t let me be misunderstood » *

I love ariana’s parts, but I find Lady Gaga’s vocals a bit odd as if she’s trying to emulate Ariana’s. Will watch the video later to give me more time to get acquainted with the song...

I haven’t seen the repercussions of her post yet (not saying there aren’t, just haven’t taken the time to investigate) but I think she’s right about the fact that She should be free to be who she wants to be. Now, I’m not saying that people should accept dangerous and toxic relationship. But why should she be making headlines for being anti-feminist just because she’s not the new, modern, independent type of Disney princess ?

I have to say, « say so » is the only song I like of hers but I’m rooting for her. She’s got vision and a nice personality, so more power to her !

I find it fascinating how this topic has become the equivalent of "The View", discussing politic opinions, parenting skills, self worth and more... Only Lana-centered. Don't go anywhere, we'll be right back after a short break !

Oh no the voice is quite well imitated !

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

This is gonna sounds so stupid but with NFR being released on freaking August 30, I was ready to start listening to Christmas music already (don’t judge). No but really, Lana’s songs have a spring-summer vibe imo and having the album once summer was basically over was a bit meh. So I’m slowly re-discovering it... As I said... it’s stupid ! -
Nothing to so with Chromatica, rather with her very first steps. I found this on YT and it made me so nostalgic and emotional, seeing the behind the scene of what would be a turning point for pop music:

I once read a comment on a "Heroin" video that said something along the lines of: "How can Lana sing about such dark topics so beautifully". I agreed with that. The lyrics are quite dark and ominous, and whether she sings about drugs or toxic relationships or a dangerous lifestyle, her voice has this siren-like quality that draws you in hers songs...

Lust For Life - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
BlueJeans replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
Lust for Life, while having some GREAT songs, is not the album I run the fastest to... I can't quite understand it myself, I love Cherry, Heroin, White Mustang and many others. But for some reason, some of the songs I like less "taint" the album. Quite weird... -
Is that the same font from "Call Me By Your Name" ?
-
I remember (very random) that I had listened to it a few times when the album came out but it’s only during my exams that I fell in love with it. I took a break from a course I was studying for and listened to it in my kitchen and BAM the melody hit.
-
Agree ! Britney is quite cohesive, Blackout is too only darker, while ITZ had great singles.

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

I really don't mind the artwork but that font... Doesn't make sense, especially when you compare it to the one used for the back cover. Perhaps the physical album will feature a sticker for the title and LDR, liberating the cover from these (sorry not sorry) eye sore. Besides that, the cover has an interesting concept. I thought the smoke was clouds in the distance but having the city on fire makes you wonder... I like the brushes touches at the end but wonder why they didn't do the same for the back cover. The tracklist is interesting too. She had a blast with these long titles, eh ? Too bad we already heard basically half of the album. I tried to listen to "Cinnamon" as little as possible but hey, I'm just a man... Excited to hear it in full ! Anyway, looking forward to it! And the videos! And the rest. AH it started !
