Basically. Black Beauty I think wouldn't have been a hit. It's a beautiful song, but I don't think it would have faired well.

TROPICO: Review (by sparklrtrailrheaven)

NOOOOOOOOOOO why tease us about it ! Haha I love reading actual in depth articles about artist's art. I remember this Lady Gaga blog where people could post real essays about her songs, visuals, music inspirations and everything. It was really interesting. -
TROPICO: Review (by sparklrtrailrheaven)

You forgot about the most Beautiful moment of the mini movie; the scene where John declares his love for America ! But I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. For something you did in a hurry, your style was very nice, really! (Ever thought of doing more Lana reviews to post here ? ) -
Same, I chose "BTD" as my favorite (it introduced me to her, never head a sound like that before, the lyrical universe was unique at the time, so many great visuals etc..) but I chose Ultraviolence as her best album, too.

Awesome, welcome aboard (there's a welcome section by the way, I should be doing this here but yeah sorry, I was taken aback )

Wait, are you Dazedmadonna on Youtube, with all the instrumentals ?
-
I agree with a lot of you who say that they did the right single choice ! That's also why I wanted to know what you guys thought could have been another option...
-
Some of them were promo singles and what not but none were debut singles... Ugh, now I want a OTTR music video. Scrap that. I've always wanted one.
-
I was wondering: if you could choose a debut single from every Lana album as if that album was the very first she ever put out, what would it be ? The song can't be the first single off that album, too. So basically, each time : Lana is a new artist. What song are you going for ? Born To Die: "Born To Die". It really introduces the album, the era, the sonic vision etc... Paradise: "American". Although I love this song, I feel that it may be a bit weak for a debut single but I think the melody could have been very catchy for radios and Lana's universe is well transcribed in it. Ultraviolence: "Florida Kilos" : while not necessarily translating the atmosphere of the album, it's a certified bop while being quite unique making me think that people could have been intrigued. But this is a tricky one... Honeymoon: This album doesn't have a lot of songs that could thrill radio stations, imo (which doesn't mean they're bad, far from that). I guess "Salvatore" has the best formula.

She needs to record audiobooks and start an ASMR YouTube channel, tbh !
-
Are you Oliver by any chance ?
-
Born To Die. I watched the video two or three times before actually getting the atmosphere, her voice etc.. But Blue Jeans sealed the deal
-
Hmmm... Not single worthy imo. And weird vocal production, I find.
-
She looks Beautiful !

From the EP, it was the only song that didn't catch me on the first spin. But now I see where the melody is going, the lyrics are cute and yeah it's fun !
-
You're as cute as a button @@Elle ! Excited for this forum ! I have to admit I'm a creature of habit but I'll do my best not to annoy anyone !

I really wonder what her vocal delivery will be like. I feel that her voice has evolved a lot from album to album ! Recently, for her Jazz album, she's been using this broadway-ish, dramatic voice. It's impressive, I'm not saying it's not but for instance, I didn't really like what she did for "Till it happens to you". So I'm curious with what she's gonna serve us vocally for this new album !
-
She's a successful and prolific songwriter (either for herself or other artists) with a distinct vocal delivery. I like her, not everything she put out, but stand out songs for me are : - Credit - All About That Bass (yes) - Lips are Moving - Dear Future Husband (didn't like it at first, but the ear worm is too catchy) - Best Part (it's not really a song but...) Me too is fun... Too.

Honeymoon ?
