*Nnnnn. I feel the same. A lot of fans love Born to Die because of the hip-hop elements. That album has a wide demographic of people enjoying it: from gay to straight, from hip-hop to pop fans, from young to old, from underground music lovers to mainstream ones. I feel like Ultraviolence will be a commercial flop but more critically acclaimed--I don't know. Lana seems to be more concerned about critics and how they perceive her than success, at this point.

The vocals are exactly the same as the August Demo, sadly. Beta has already uploaded the Relic instrumental on his Soundcloud, which sounds VERY different to the final version of EH.
I don't get all this hate for the song, did you guys not know that it wasn't going to be drastically different? Beta said that the Final version wasn't entirely dissimilar from the August Demo, so I'm not too sure what you were all expecting from it????

I guess the people who needs things in colour are the same people who dont watch subtitled movies because they don't want to "read" while watching.
Strange.
Anyway, i'm glad the video is bnw, matches the song perfectly.

so after listening to the two different 4 minute versions i think this is the only way for me to describe the differences in the chorus
i can see my baby swinging
i can see my baby swinging
i can see my baby swinging
vs
i can see my baby swinging
i can see my baby swinging
i can see my baby swinging
i couldn't exactly pinpoint why i hated the second version but i think its cause the layering makes her sound robotic, if not somewhat militaristic

By the way, Lana posted the National Anthem trailer a day before the video was released and all of the videos ahead of WC on the VEVO schedule (http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/media/media_vevo.cgi) have already premiered this week.

huh ok i never really thought lana would care about that so much that she would completely change a song but then again it was probably her label I'm guessing
thank you for answering

For an example "I Follow Rivers" by Lykke Li was a huge hit in Germany /Switzerland.. and they played a more mainstream "radio friendly" version on the radio, the same thing happened with Summertime Sadness. They probably just want a lot of airplay with the new version because as leaked_version already said the original version would never be played on german radio stations, they never play stuff like that.

Who cares if someone is a flop or not. Taste in music is wholly subjective and radio play isn't everything
