  1. I think Lana is aware she is appreciated by lots of music lovers but she craves recognition by her peers and critics. I think it is part of her personality, wanting to feel admired... her insecurity probably weighs a lot on this too. But she will be ok.
  2. This is one of my faves from her May Jailer era. Simple but deep and beautiful folk songs. She could be a 60's protest singer... Wonder if Lana was listening to a lot of folk singers like Dylan, Baez and Joni or if it is pure genius experimentation... Very different from her later work.
  3. I am attracted to problematic, difficult women. The wilder, the better..
  4. Still confused about the I like your women verse.
  5. Candy can be related to sex or drugs (ecstasy, cocaine). Urban dictionary most fitting definition of "candy"— candy n. 1. euphemism for sex 2. something (usually flashy like a lure) used to get sex 3. drugs, particularly cocaine, crack, or E 1. Hey little girl, want some candy?
  6. I put it on Google translate, and I l love it that she says she relates the most to Cruel World off UV.

    For You

Me too, please. I have Sirens but not this one.
  8. Is This Happiness. Pure beauty! It sounds like she is going to break down any minute. I love it.
  9. Glad she was not drinking. Two sips of beer could take an alcoholic to hell and back again...

    For You

I do find some similarities too. I think she likes The Smiths. Saw a quote from There Is A Light... in her yfrog album once and it made my day!
  11. I didn't get those Witch Hazel Witch Hazel Beytrayal betrayal verses... Thanks heaps for the interpretations. Witch Hazel = heroine... it makes sense. This seems to be about Barrie, yes. The Man to man... verse reminds me of that french interview in which Lana said she was "a man amongst men". I wonder if she uses those masculine terms referring to herself due to reading almost exclusively male writers?
  12. No way she is drinking again. What about AA?
  13. All said and done, their love was sweet tho.
  14. You nailed it. I think similarly but could never put it so nicely. Thanks heaps!
  15. Yes! South America please please please! Couldn't go last year.
  16. LOL Yeah... But even if she sings about boys, I relate to her lyrics a lot, emotionally and spiritually (and sonically). I guess you can't limit feelings to gender. It's the same with The Smiths & Morrissey. Plus, I'll love her forever for the Summertime Sadness exquisite video.
  17. A selfish person would not be so kind to her fans... Immature? May be. Her imperfections make her beautiful.
  18. I try to remain reasonable and healthy, but, inside, I carry many contradictions. I have peaceful moments and a great deal of torments. It is tempestuous. Lovely girl...
  19. Those are characteristics of a romantic mind. Lana's Art is very romantic.
  20. I find it funny that Lana sings that she lives for her man and would give anything up for their love, plays the fragile submissive girl... and in real life her boyfriend seemed to take up this role. Does anyone think Cruel World and Is This Happiness were written about their relationship? Waiting for the next episode of this soap opera.
  21. You can't leave YOUR GIRL alone for months on end and expect it to be a-ok... some guys are fucking clueless! Wake up Barrie!
  22. I reckon a guy like that could appreciate Lana artistically, see her beauty beyond standards. I guess she likes to be admired in this manner. Plus, he's a hunk of a man! Italians do it better, baby. Hope Lana is having fun and getting it good no matter with whom.
