Well then we have to work on getting them hooked up. Can you imagine if they had a baby or two. That would be awesome.

It's a fault on both sides:
What Lana said was very much exaggerated to make her look suicidal.
However, that we can't dismiss the fact Lana did say she wished she was dead. But as others have said, people say "kill me now" and no one questions if they're suicidal.

But in general, people just need to give Lana a break. I don't know why there is such a fascination with giving Lana especially a hard time, but there really is no reason as to why she should be picked on. And I think that's what she's sick of. To be honest, I would be too. That's probably why she hasn't wanted to be interviewed recently.

All in all this is what I think she's trying to say: Let the music speak for itself. Lana is here to make music and pursue her dream; Her personal life is another story. The fact that this interview exploited and was exaggerated is something she's been trying to get away from for so long, and I think that's why seeing this interview was so hard for her.

Exactly - I like that she is slightly nervous because to be quite honest it makes her seem like a normal person who has a passion for music - not the fame. It's all about art and music with Lana - she doesn't want the attention which is totally understandable. She clearly just wants to do what she loves. But these journalists just play on her insecurities and keep pushing in hope to get something out of her - because she doesn't actively talk about her life or anything because she's a private person and she has a right to be and doesn't want losts of attention like most other artists.

She has every right to be pissed at Alexis Petridis, Tim Jonze, whoever wrote the headline, and anyone else involved in taking a legitimate interview and spinning it to sensationalist effect.

Jonze should just say "I didn't mean the question to be leading; I was uncomfortable asking it" and leave it at that. But that wouldn't be "interesting" enough. Instead he has to resort to disingenuous excuses like well, um, she didn't specifically SAY we took her words "out of context" specifically... Really, Tim Jonze?

The thing that worries me is that it was so blown out of proportion that it could even drive her to stop her carer. I mean how much over exaggeration and back lash from the media can one girl take. She just said that it was their personalties and their music, not the fact they died young for god sake. He knew what he was doing and wanted that sort of answer probably. Also, she's obviously sick of giving interviews for them then to be twisted and I could see that be the reason as to why she actually said I wish I was dead so I don't have to do this. People forget that Lana is still shy person (obviously not as much as at the start) and  may have even been a bit worried as she said it - that's could explain the nervous laugh and the sort of vagueness of it all. Plus we don't even know what else had been said before hand and the way he was going on about death and really trying to get her to say that she idolise death so she could have being sarcastic. I'm actually so annoyed because the guardian is meant to be a reputable newspaper in this country but that journalist went too far.

I think she simply has different views on death than the majority of people in this world and saying it quite openly like she did in the interview leads to these kinds of ''sensations''. I just think it says a lot about the world we live in and in what kind of culture do we find ourselves. This definitely was blown out of proportion and twisted, I do believe in that.
I honestly don't get it, I don't understand what has she done to deserve all the bullshit she gets, because really, it seems like she does get more than other people do. How about just let her be/create music/sing? So simple, yet it seems that our media-driven culture is incapable of just appreciating things for what they are. There always has to be some-kind of ranking/competition system that puts people/artists against each other. And more than anyone else, I don't understand critics. Like, what kind of job exactly is that? It's like all they do is sit all day make fun of/criticize others for what they do, because, well, at least they DO something in their lives. The rant's over, thank you

We think it's either Jimmy Gnecco, or an actual cult leader whose cult is related to Alcoholics Anonymous.

I love this video so much it's my favorite music video of hers by far. I love the concept, the artistry, the direction.

Lana looks so amazing and natural and real in this video. She does every movement with such class even just eating a strawberry. She's so careful and beautiful ugh, I wish I had an inch of sex appeal she does. Even when she's dancing it's just magic. Please have mercy on my soul Lana I can't take how good this one is.

Lana was probaly talking about dead icons and she was like "oohshdihish i wish i was dead" maybe not in a suicidal way but in a I wish i was a glamours dead icon kind of way

I think she's just upset because she speaks complexly and not literally there was a miscommunication someplace and what was a deep interview about the beauty of dead icons and the mysteries of death.....got turned into a suicide cry that's why she's claiming it was manipulated the quotes in the interview sound like her speaking but its all in the tone and context we should all just be happy she's not crying for help and showing her back bone!

I totally take Lana's side on this. The British press pretty much prints lies about  celebrities anyways. I mean British newspapers are garbage.

Even if she did say those things (which she obviously did). Taking one quote and composing an entire article around that is definitely manipulative.

I think that's a large part of the problem here. Lana didn't explicitly state she was feeling suicidal, yet the Guardian journalist didn't refrain from implying this. The journalist clearly made it seem that Lana felt suicidal from the title of 'I wish I was dead already' - which, really, suggests right from the start that Lana feels suicidal. He implied a view that Lana didn't make completely clear, which is completely unfair.

Alexis Petridis is the head of the music section. Its under his competetion and Im sure he was the first who contacted Lana. Naming the article "I wish I was dead"+ waiting such a long time to publish it during the release is definitely SINISTER:
