tbh We should stop talking about the feminism comment & talk about the fact that Lana has an unknown illness that she has been battling with over the last couple years, and that critics have driven her to have suicidal thoughts. That seems more important to me at least. I always knew that Lana just didn't like a lot of the stuff with fame, but now I think that she may have some sort of mental illness associated with it all.

I think she is a feminist, she doesn't like to admit it because of the negativity (wrongly) associated with feminism. she definitely wants women to have better rights, but I just don't think she understands how to put those views across

The interview had song lyrics in it. Money Power Glory "My life it comprises of losses and wins and fails and falls
I can do it if you really, really like that"
And an extra line of Brooklyn Baby "Yeah my boyfriend's really cool, but he's not as cool as me."

Honestly this just tells the kind of person she is. If she doesnt care for feminism, she just doesnt. It's not cringy or eww or whatever. It's just how she feels. Give her a break.

This interview was really good. Really personal. It seems like she said a lot that was on her mind. If you don't like it... that's a shame. Cuz this seems like the most personal and honest interview we've ever gotten.

Do our timelines even have enough time to account for that long of a relationship lol?

This article was interesting. Lana's illness is very sad, and so is the fact that she alludes to depression, suicidal thoughts, and hating herself. It now makes sense way she always says she 'trying to be happy'. Some of this stuff was a little cringy though. feminism

Cringing at the "Social issues aren't important because look at how many galaxies there are" tumblr level derailing nonsense tbh. That being said, I hope she starts to feel better. Anxiety and depression issues tend to manifest physically eventually, which could be some part of her chronic sick feeling.

It is a little disappointing that she seems so closed off and shady about everything all the time though. Of course that's her right, and I can understand not wanting people prying in her personal life too much, but the constant implication that she doesn't even really have a solid personality beyond changing herself to fit other people's expectations just makes me sad.

You can tell a lot of people on this forum have never listened to anything beyond 2010s pop tbh.

This cinematic rock sound is exceedingly beautiful and emotionally resonant. I also love the subtlety of the sound that harks back to the songs of the 60s and 70s.

    It's a snooze ngl

I like the spoken part though. She's so odd sometimes I love it.

Dark, rock, syncopated, evocative and liberating.

You all have to deal with the fact that the big strings and the pumped vocals are 2012, this is the new Lana's aesthetic.
It's ridiculous from you to spend time by telling that it's different and finding negative things to say.

If you don't like those new songs so keep listening the other, thanks internet we all have 150+ songs from her.

Watch UV become her new "Summertime Sadness".

The song is simply majestic, sad and melancholic. Lana at her best. The words are there to enhance the feelings that the music gives (there's no point to over-analyse the lyrics). I can't with the virgin teens lanalyzing this song in this thread

It's because most of them are preorder sales. That's not bad tho because it means album sales are going great!

I love it. Lana's voice is hauntingly beautiful yet again.

I broke down and listened to it. My willpower wasn't strong enough lol. UV sounds good but the mix seems a little off, especially the bass. So far West Coast is still my fav, with SoC and UV following. I am hoping for more uptempo numbers.

I've been a member of plenty of message boards, some for a few years. With that being said, there are some here that think the more vulgar or insulting they can be, the better. Maybe it's the same disrespectful people that go to the shows and ruin it for everyone else. They will try to ruin a positive and friendly, and mature atmosphere on these boards if they are allowed to. I notice its always the same ones as well that start the immature drama and have negative attitudes. Hopefully if people ignore them they will go away, unless the moderators decide to do something about it.

I've enjoyed all the songs so far, I even enjoy the vocals/mixing or whatever, it's a really cool retro vibe! HOWEVER I in no way want people to think that I think I'm in anyway better than them because I like all the UV songs so far because I do not! Honestly, each to their own! I wish everyone could be a little more civil though!
Please don't interpret this is preachy or anything, I'm not good at getting my tone across correctly in english

There's something very National Anthem about the spoken part, but the lyrics (though not her strongest) are 100% Lizzy Grant (I'm surprised no one connected the "I can hear the sirens" line to May Jailer, etc)

So it is true that Ultraviolence is going to cleanse the fanbase from the bandwagoners :dead:

Vevo version sounds nice to me, not pitched in my opinion.

I instantly fell in love the first time i heard the live version from her seattle concert.
This chorus is just so damn perfect...

It’s so beautiful. The bridge literally made me cry. I love the spoken part. It’s like she was talking down the phone she was so quiet it was like she didn’t want to wake anyone. Oh and the strings and guitar work is beyond magical.Lana has really outdone herself this time. The album is going to slay commercially critically and most importantly me...
