Oh and only you guys will appreciate this but I totally Born-to-Die'd my car last month. Flipped right the fuck over going down a back road...  I was okay, but my poor Carmen (my little red car) was written off

As a Midwesterner accustomed to straight flat freeways, I never batted an eye at the idea of driving 100 mph. But after driving several hours down the California coast on vacation recently, this is pure fantasy. Highway 1 is too winding to drive anywhere near that fast. 

I've gotta say, this instrumental does sound a lot like something Lana would sing over. After hearing this track, I really hope she is working with him. I think they'd make good songs together

She spent god knows how much money to get it gradually lighter and lighter too as well then she gets rid of it after a few weeks  Lana's hair dresser must of been internally screaming inside whilst dying it black again...

Why go through the pain of bleaching your hair so long for it to turn blond  if you're just going to dye it back to black again before even a month has passed??

I'm gonna push back on this a bit. I agree this is a problem with how female artists are viewed in general, but I'm not sure how well it applies here with respect to Lana. By all accounts it sounds like Barrie & Lana bonded over their mutual pre-existing likes of the same artists. However, in interviews Lana herself has frequently described adopting many of her faves from the men in her life. And there is significant evidence, for instance, that this may have been the case with Arthur Lynn. I also don't think it's at all a stretch to view her appreciation of many of the artists she namedrops as rather superficial.

Maybe she just wanted to eat lunch with her friend in peace without being imposed upon?

Abrahm Hicks isn't a cult. It's a self help book which plays into self-spiritualism. Nothing about it is organized and it focuses mostly on working within yourself, not other people. In fact you can do the entire Abraham Hicks method on your own. no one else is required for it to work.
 
 
Also, I agree with the "Cult" being AG. It just fits so well. The posts she wrote way back when (around the same time the sex scandal broke in Washington I think) fit with the timeline. Did she say she was in the cult for 7 years though? I think Lana is like my boyfriend and just absolutely horrible about estimating time (ie. when he says that we've been talking about something on the phone for 20 min when in actuality it has been 5 and my phone even shows how long we've been talking for yet he still won't acknowledge he is wrong lol) so I can see why her timeline is all screwy. 7 years might actually be 4, knowing her.

As one of your resident "old farts" on the board I need to chip in. The thing I keep realising as I get older is that my parents had no fucking clue what they were doing while raising me. I was a problem child (not like Lana, drinking and partying was my sister's forte) in that I just didn't listen to my parents. I snuck out, talked back, lied, and ran away at one point. And after my step sister went to live with her dad, and with me behaving badly, my parents threatened me with boarding school. I think at that point, because I couldn't go anywhere else and they were at their wits end with me, that was their last resort. My parents weren't rich so it would have nearly bankrupt them if they sent me. They just didn't know what else to do.
 
Rob and Pat probably were the same, struggling to keep their child under control but at their breaking point. No parent wants to send their children away for someone else to raise them, but when you're at the point where you have no control over them but you don't want to see them dead, you do what you have to do. I hated my parents throughout my teen years because they even tried to send me away. But I didn't understand why until this last year. As I get closer to becoming a parent myself I realize that parents are usually just stumbling around in the dark trying to find their way to raise a good child into a better adult. It's difficult and there is no "manual".
 
I'm sure Rob and Pat were heartbroken they had to send Lizzy away because it meant they screwed up as parents and they were losing their oldest daughter but it still would have been better than the alternative. She would have been in the hands of professionals who knew what they were doing. Besides we probably wouldn't have LDR without boarding school

She probably didn't have her hard drive hacked (so dramatic Lana!). She probably had her iTunes broadcasting over wifi... So easy to steal songs off of other people's computer. I used to do it all the time when I lived in the dorms.
