@@evilentity honestly, truly I am. It's about time there was greater potato representation in lana's music tho tbh I can't agree with her assessment that butter on potato is wrong
  3. me circa 2014 man this is a sad song, black beauty is about to lose her place in saddest lyrics for me
  4. legend for bumping the thread I forgot I made Anyway where is Festival Music is ryan pulling a lana on us
  5. Big talk coming from someone acting like an absolute baby. Don't come to this thread if you don't like it, it's pretty simple. Being a fan doesn't mean you can't be critical. That's actually something I really like about LB over other forums, there's a whole lot less sycophantic praise. When Lana does well and releases good music and puts effort into her eras the praise is here, just look at the last 7 years of threads lol. You (and her) should not expect fans to blindly love and follow her without critique.
  6. That's fair. Honestly though I don't think Joni has any bad albums, just a lot that cater to different tastes. Like a lot of people I know cite Mingus as her weakest body of work but I strongly disagree. Basically what I mean is don't put too much emphasis on the fan favourite albums because Joni is so eclectic and everyone enjoys different aspects of music~ The only thing I dislike about Hejira is how confusing the album art is to look at why does she look so wide it gets more uncomfortable the longer I look at it. Otherwise a perfect album
  7. the hissing of summer lawns should be the next one you give a shot

  9. Yes, but those are songs that have lyrics that generally fit the themes of her original music e.g loneliness, relationship breakdown. Doin' Time is lyrically outside of her regular themes and literally references people that have nothing to do with Lana or her life.
  10. i've been waiting for your response to the thread tbh what's it like to have Lana cover a song just for you?
  11. I totally get what you mean. It's hard for me to vibe with Doin' Time on an emotional level because the lyrics are not hers and don't really have any meaning to me.
  12. it's okay I guess? there's some really nice production elements going on with her background vocalisations but I hate how abruptly the song ends I dunno I guess it's hard to get hyped for a random cover when we were promised an album lmao
  13. This cover feels like it would've done well on UV and tbh I'm very confused about what direction NFR is taking ~sonically~
  14. She could really make an amazing acoustic joni mitchell inspired album and she won't
  15. Omg i've literally been meaning to watch this for about a year idk what keeps stopping me it's 100% my kind of show. ty for the tag @@SlowGinFizzzz

is this the NFR pre-release thread
  17. for your sake I hope she performs something new. Ur too nice to deserve this!!!
  18. she could potentially perform some new songs at the festivals but tbh feel bad for anyone with a ticket, they bout to get a BtD fest
  19. I love the delusion but I gotta disagree. As far as I'm concerned the poetry book ruined NFRs scheduled release because she started to really enjoy writing it (nice for her) and got in her head that it needs to be released before the album (not nice for us). I'm very happy to eat my own words if she surprise drops it but i'm about 99% convinced that's not happening.
  20. lock the pre-release this is confirmation that it's not coming any time soon
  21. oh dear we've moved to handwritten lines on typed pages? All she needs is a cigarette across the page and we've reached peak instapoet aesthetics
  22. This always shakes me. Out of interest were you/your friends aware of the albums big singles when it came out? like did it reach your demographic? Or did you become aware of them later? good ranking btw I respect that.
  23. I can't believe that baby heard NFR before all of us
  24. public holidays = more free time and lack of daily structure = the last 5 pages
  25. yes but the Lucky Ones stans are so vocal it kind of balances out I also would've put VG and BTD hire up but I've listened to them sooo much I kind of killed them for myself, they don't have that freshness they used to have. It's hard to remember what songs I liked best when I first listened but my rankings have changed a bit over time (though Radio always been my #1) and I frequently find new things I love about the album.
