I'm one of those weirdos who likes Carmen but it just doesn't fit with this festival tour

i agree. it is very important. bob dylan's newport folk festival appearance in '65 is one of the most memorable moments in rock'n'roll history. but it's because he did something memorable and the crowd reacted like never before.

i hope lana doesn't disappoint and slays everyone   also, people who don't follow her don't know about the backup dancers. i'm curious about their response

    I still think it's just a festival..

Uh, no, my friend. Lollapalooza literally made entire careers and Lana will be there to represent 25 years of music history. Also, she will be hugely exposed to non-fans, those who claim she can't sing based on her old SNL fail and think of a generic remix whenever they hear her name. This is rather an opportunity than "just a festival".

I found a good quality video of Yayo and converted it to mp3, unfortunately it ends after the chorus but it's still worth the listen.
I'll update this post with other links if I found anything worth listening like this

  11. Fernanda liked a post in a topic by Neptune-Avenue in Lana's alleged sect/cult past
i dont think we have the right to automatically discredit this as an exaggeration or a lie..its very possible it could have happened it fits into her songs and it fits with her dependency and broken mind   it only takes a week to join a cult/sect .. she never said how long she was involved it could have been a short period of time also did she ever give a location this could have coexisted with any lanalysis we have so far... if we assume she doesn't involve her boyfriends in everything.....

also why is she leaking this info now?. possibly yes the give clues and meaning to lyrics like "cult leader" its relevant to the album that doesn't mean its a lie or all for publicity but also to keep the story going to give more pieces of her life ...

I don't mean to be one of those annoying freaks obsessed with conspiracy theories, but I find it insane that Lana keeps having all these affiliations with dying celebrities.

Remember in 2014 when she was scheduled to collaborate with Lou Reed for a song on Ultraviolence, but on that exact day he died!

Then Lana goes and references David Bowie lyrics in 'Terrence Loves You' ("Ground control to Major Tom") and talks about him in an interview (how Lana Del Rey isn't a persona or an alter-ego like David Bowie)... then he dies a month or two after?

Now, Prince! Not that long ago on the Honeymoon account, do any of you remember this post which read:
"Living in the land of Honeymoons & Oil Tycoons. God Bless America, the land of pink champagne & purple rain. This is my favourite perspective / nothing but white sails above and blue waters rolling in front of me for miles and miles."

Take a close look, she references "PURPLE RAIN"... and now Prince is dead.

I know that it's quite possibly a coincidence, and I'm not saying that we should take any of this too seriously, but I just find it super weird that Lana keeps referencing someone, then not soon after they're dead. It could just be that she is influenced by a lot of older artists, but I just find it so strange regardless.

I remember the anticipation on this forum as well, waiting for that damn radio show so it could premiere. Wow, getting emotional here, you guys
It all happened during one of the happiest times of my life, so I'm just being a nostalgic old sucker.

Who else but the eight-time Grammy winner Dan Auerbach?

This single set the tone for the rest of my summer that year; in fact, the whole album did. Will always be a highlight for me
  16. Neptune-Avenue liked a post in a topic by PARADIXO in 'West Coast' Turns 2
Two years ago, Lana Del Rey released "West Coast", a psychedelic, Dan Auerbach-produced masterpiece. The song was just a taste of the Ultraviolence sound - lo-fi vocals with thousands of layers and filters over dreamy guitars, drunken drums and druggy effects.

    Remember the legendary radio premiere?

P.S.: Not the member, @@West Coast

i think she's gotten better musically over time for me personally. i find her to be a far more interesting artist now then when she first came out, even though i loved her when she first came out too.

i just think people are expecting btd quality eras, and that was very much a one off thing for her, but fans cant let go and they get frustrated. its cute people care so much, but i've come to terms with just rolling with the punches when it comes to her nowdays, as long as the albums are great i'm happy............everything else is fun, but i can take it or leave it since it comes second to the music, and i still love the music.

chart and sales wise, she was always going to decline, she was always a niche artist who got a lucky break with btd and she was never going to be able to maintain that sort of success over and over. shes just not that type of artist and her music doesnt have that sort of pull.
  18. Neptune-Avenue liked a post in a topic by brooklynbaby91 in Is Lana Declining?
Artistically, I don't think she's declining. She's exploring different sounds with each album, so it might be hard to take if you're super attached to a sound from one specific era of hers. You have BTD stans who keep waiting for her to return to that style of music, UV stans who wanted her to continue that way, meanwhile Lana just wants to make songs with whatever sound she finds interesting at the time.

There's no denying that budget-wise things aren't as great as they were in the BTD days when she was putting out masterpieces like the Ride video. But I think this is a result of a business situation rather than because Lana is starting to suck.

I thought there was something really special and intimate to the last degree of hearing her sing very softly like this just for herself, not singing as a singer but just as a person, her voice sounds different and neither controlled or polished and idk I really enjoyed this not because she's beautiful or just because it's related to her but there was something very particularly genuine and human about this 15s video

Or I'm just extra asf. That's also realistic

The song in the Francesco video is Led Zeppelin's  "Babe I'm gonna leave you". I found the clip symbolic.

I wear that semi-bun hairstyle with laid down frontal horns of hair since my early highschool (together with Veronica Lake style). I didn't know I look like a cheap Babylon whore      (one of my lovers called me squirrel, but fuck me    )
But, if Angelina Jolie can pull up that hairdo and look like a greek goddess or majestic statue, with everyone slavishly licking her toes, why wouldn't omnipotent chameleonic supervixen Lana? I don't care about messy, burlesque shape of the outfit, I love the whimsical frills and how she combined frolic lolitaesque top (BTD teas) with eccentric ladylike skirt (it is even slightly siren-shaped – witty inuendo), and that seedy bordello hair of seductive, capricious, horny southern belle is hilarious in all of its tackiness.
She looks like Carmen from the opera, or Toulouse-Lautrec's ginger minx on absynth and opium, but in a manic phase, madly in love laced with intergalactic orgasms. She sure is the master manipulator of alchemical transforming dirty badass downtown hooker into madame with pedigré of a precious royal, or at least triumphantly blends those sassy components in one hysterical, magnetic and divine apparition.

And I adore that peachy tangerine explosion of life, love, lust and libido (she finally embraced golden part of the spectrum, first red, then this fire of light that dramatically cracked her murky cumuluses - orange chakra covers sexuality and creativity - she is obviously weaking up from her deep melancholic winter dream of misery and despair). She is so fucking radiant, resurrection of the millennium. It's like she unleashed all of her inhibitions and finally isn't terrified of herself and her inner monsters, and she looks like she's swallowed a parachute of spanish flies for courtesans. David Bowie would gladly gasp: „Hot tramp, I love you so!“
