I don't wanna force my opinion on anyone, but I think lots of poeple are overreacting. In my opinion "whore" is not something which is misogynistic, as it is adressed to one special person and her behaviour. I don't say it's something nice to say but it's not the misuse of a word like "gay" or "jew" as a swayword, cause these two examples are something which refers to a group of people and their personality, so using it as a slur is making the whole group look like something disgusting. "Whore" is not a general term for women (at least not from my point of view) so the use of it is not misogynistic. She's not saying something like" women belong into the kitchen" or "girls with short dresses deserve to be raped", she is using a slur against a specific person. Like I said, not nice, but definitly not misogynistic. -

She seems to adress one concrete person and uses the slur "whore". She's talking about this one woman. I don#t even think that whore is related to the "FMWUTTT" thing, as she clearly sings "I fucked my way up to the top - this is my show", which seems to be most likely sarcastic. So "whore" is just a "general" slur in this case. And "whore" .. well, itÄs a whore. itäs not like she said "faggot" or ":)", a word that is musused as a slur and by that very negative and discriminating. If it would be a man and she would sing "you're a wanker", noone would say anything, but because she's talking about a woman and uses a female swearword you accuse her of being misogynistic- That's what I mean. -

So if she would insult a man it would be something different? -

She is talking about one person and not women in general. I mean, critisizing UV for romanticizing domestic voilence is something I can understand. But FMWUTTT is clearly not misogynistic, she has posed as a prostitute/woman who sleeps around herself in other songs/videos. -

So many people did diss-songs and are still around. FMWUTTT sounds good, so who cares if it's a diss song. It's npt as if she would celebrate a racistic or homophobic behaviour or something. -

She said it's going to be a "FU!" towards someone. What did you all expect? -

"I'm a dragon, you're a whore, don't even know hat you're good for. Mimicking me is a fucking bore to me" ... Well ... seems like this is gonna be a big bad diss. -
FMWUTTT, PWYC and TOW will most likely be my favorites together with FK and BRBY.

I'm even more in love with Pretty When You Cry and The Other Woman. Money Power Glory could also be a Marina and the Diamonds song Fucked My Way Up To The Top seems to be super-flawless Sad Girl will really be a very good Jazz-Song. Old Money will really be a classy song, somehow reminds me a little bit of Bel Air (even tough she sings lower notes and the instrumental seems to be super stripped-down) Such a shame that we haven't got any new snippets of FLORIDA KILOS (just thinking of the name is ) -

Since when is her hair red again? Or is that an old picture? -
Maybe they sped up the verses so they can go all tempo-change on the chorus, aka WC and SoC
-
"In the chorus, he plays this role as my confidante, lover, pimp, whatever."

Yeah, but for me the way she sings and the "emotions" as well as the lyrics kind of seemed to fit CW. While MPG is said to be "I want the Money, the Power and the glory!" and have some kind of hip-hop-esque beats and in the snippet her voice sounds "cooler", while CW seems to be more desperate. Well, we'll see ... -

Yeah, when the drums kick in and she sings the low note on "feel you pretty baby, feel me" it's just like I also feel like, although it's not Kill Kill, Florida Kilos sounds more like it could have been from the AKA era. -

Yeha, more like a vinyl effect, like on Blue Velvet or Cola. -

Old Money has a line which is very similar to Metamphetamines. And the composer says "Elizabeth Grant" instead of Lana Del Rey. Coincidence? -

Can anyone figure out the "Florida Kilos" lyrics? BTW the trainsound in FMWUTTT is flawless! -

I really think that Cruel World is song Sad girl and Pretty When You Cry - two tracks I was the least excited about, but they sound so wonderful - so jazzy! Money Power glory sounds kind of like it could have been on Born To Die, I wonder how the chorus will sound like Fucked My Way U To The Top sounds super-beautiful ... did really not expect that. Old money sounds like it will be the Million Dollar Man song of UV - classy and calm. The Other Woman - so sad that it's just going to be a short song, it really sounds beautiful and I also think that it has this "cover"-sound, she sings different in comparison to her own songs. It was the same with Blue Velvet and I love Paris (you know, the live cover she did in Paris) Black Beauty sounds like it wasn't changed so much, just "adjusted" to the UV sound. Good! Florida Kilos sounds - special. Could be from her AKA album, i love how her voice sounds. So yeah, I can say I wasn't disappointed, vice versa - I expected less. is This Happiness and Flipside will be great too I am sure. -

Promo Single: "BROOKLYN BABY" (June 8)
Thunder Revenant replied to clayford13's topic in New Releases
I can say I am very satisfied. I already loved the snippet, but the complete song turned out to be very different from what I expected, however in a very pleasent yet different way. It seems like the verses are about talking to someone in a serious way, while she withdraws into her bubbly-brooklyn-girl world in the chorus ("well, ...") Really like it! -
Another sarcastic song apart from FMWUTTT YAS! I am really looking forward to MPG
-
I am kind of suprised how radio interwievs seem to be all happy and cute while the printed ones are - mostly - depressed and sad ...
-
I want that coverpicture without the text *_*
