  1. I guess it's a question of taste. Everything from Born To Die and Paradise had a more or less common sound and atmosphere. Kind of like between the "Upper Class Vintage Beauty Queen", the "Trailerpark Darling" and the "wasted, motorcycle riding bikerbabe". Ultraviolence sounds really different, toned down and with it's very own atmosphere. Also, they music we heard so far seems to be arranged in a different way compared to BtD. That means, if someone loved BtD, he is not necessarily a fan of the UV-sound.
  2. I like the lyrics, I like the topics used (well, really seems like a 'new' version of HDB in some ways) and I like that this one sounds like it could be a "sonical brother" to Born To Die, you know, the way she sings and the instumental also has elements you could compare. I also like that this is kind of a straightforward song unlike West Coast and Shades of Cool. Even tough I like these two, it's nice to see that there are songs on UV besides Black Beauty and the West Coast Radio Mix that do not have big differences between chorus and verse. However, i also can not say that this one really "hit me and it felt like a kiss" like for example Body Electric did when she performed it for the first time. It's - well, it's a typical lanasong and there is nothing really bad about it, but judging from the live version this may not be my all-time-favourite song from the album.
  3. Ok, it wont be on the amazon ltd. deluxe edition. This one "just" features the WC Radio Mix as it seems. I'm kinda pissed, I mean, now I have to download it from Itunes and burn a cd to have a "complete" UV and the "original" one in my shelf will always miss a track, like it is with the Paradise Edition. Well, at least a new song I guess.
  4. Hope it's gonna be on the CDs which feature a "bonus track". And I donät think there are other "exclusive songs". Just TIH and the radio version of WC as options.
  5. It's just the vocals of the Radio Mix, which is indeed a very cool version of West Coast.
  6. I don't think she recorded so many different bonus songs ;D I guess if it's a LIMITED version, there still could be the hope that it's on it. The only other option I see is West Coast (Radio Mix), cause ... yeah, I don't think she recorded 2 or 3 songs just for exclusive versions of the album.
  7. I do not think they use the Dan Auerbach mix. It lacks so many feautures, like background "oohoos" and this "mic check, one two, get it girl!"
  8. I really like this song a lot, even tough I was very sceptical when i heard the snippets. West Coast, in its album version, really needed some time to grow on my (whilst I LOVE the radio version of it) but with soc it's just like "love at the first listen" My favourite line is "and when he calls, he calls for me and not for you!" So happy! And another good thing about this song is that unlike West Coast, this one sounds really like a completly different style compared to the BtD era. I mean, I love the BtD era sound so much, but I prefer it if different records have different atmospheres and even if Lana said it would be that way, I wasn't 100% sure after WC. It sounded different, but there still could have been a BtD like album behind it. Now I am sure Ultraviolence is going to slay on a unique way!
  9. I HOPE so much this is gonna be on the Ltd. Deluxe Edition tehy sell on Amazon ...
  10. Yeah, she said she wrote it with him and that there's a lot of guitar in it. I am still very excited about Old Money and the Nino Rota sample it features
  11. I don't think there should be the need to mention this in the first place. But .. yeah, the fact Lana is only place 82 just shows they are not only sexist but irrelevant
  12. Maybe Lana is trolling us and it's not a single. maybe "soon" means that it will be released on UV .. which is coming soon No for real .. I am dying if it's not released tomorrow.
  13. Selena Gomez is ranked higher than Lana? Well, just shows how stupid rankings like this are.
  14. What is it with this "limited Deluxe Version" of the album? They sell it on Amazon (at least here in germany). I guess it will contain the ominous 15th track, which I bet is "West Coast (Radio Mix)", but I wonder if there is anything else "limited" about it ... Does anyone know more about this?
  15. I really thought it would come on monday ... her "soon" really made me insecure :/ However, I really like the first 4s snippet, I'm not sure what I think of the chorus ... seems like there will be a tempo change again (?!?) ...
  16. She talks about the Auerbach-Story again, you know, the "I met him and we talked about my album .." thing, then she says that she was really amazed by the Coachella festival and she also states that the name "Ultraviolence" is not necessarily a reference to the move "clockwork orange" as it's more like a word she likes "sonically" ( ). She says the album was recorded in 6 weeks and that she doesn't wanted to have a golden neumann microphone. To sum things up, she does not want to be some kind of unapproachable star, but a "normal" singer, realising her dreams. She also says that her short movie Tropico wasn't recieved very well, which kind of suprises me, since I read overly good rewievs.
