  1. Nothing to be sorry for, just wanted to say it as the account really looks legit in the first place
  2. She's such a good person! I heard she once worked as a social worker. Guess if she wouldn't have made it to the singer we all love, she'd be a wonderful streetworker too!
  3. It's not lanas official account and the snippet is the one from the promotional Itunes video
  4. *puts a song on her record called "Fucked My Way Up To The Top"* You've got to love her!
  5. The "german version" of UV on Amazon as a mp3 download. AutoRip means, that if you bought the physical cd on Amazon, you get the tracks for free as mp3 download, so you dont have to put them on your pc from the disc.
  6. And the Crystals are from the early 60s, aren't they? (even though they aren't rock music) And I also have Courtney Love's Cover in mind when I think about the song, which is indeed something I would relate to the "retro-roots" of UV.
  7. Judging from what she sings in "Boarding School" she may not want to talk about them ANd sometimes, as much as I admire lana, I think she doesn't really pay attention to what she's actually saying
  8. Well, this one is definitly not a demo, but a radio version. And I don't think it lacks "fire" in any way ^^
  9. UV doesn't seem to be retro in terms of the Marilyn Monroe/ Elvis era. For the thing she aims for, I it stil fits very well.
  10. Except for Brooklyn Baby, which I am super-excited to hear, and which would be the only song I would listen to if UV leaked, I am going to listen to the CD from start to the end. However, since my copy doesn't include Is This happiness and Flipside, I will have to get them seperatly.
  11. Well, it is a quote which is associated with the band often, and it can be assumed that she knows the song. But yeah, she always made references to "older music", this time she uses one quote.i would call it rather creative than lazy, it fits her retro-style
  12. it's one line and it's not like she couldn't have come up with this herself, as if it was super-deep-poetry or something. So calling it lazy is really overreacting.
  13. I don't know what the problem is, it's not as if she would only sing high-pitched in UV ... She still hits some deep notes. She has a different style on the record (would be boring otherway) but it's still Lana Del Rey. She didn't changed to Lizzy or May or some other alter-ego, she still does music in LDR style.
  14. Well, even tough she can sing very high notes, I always feel like lana's voice has an overall deep sound, even when she uses her high/mid voice (eg. she sings very high in some Body Electric live performances, still she doesn't sound like a Birdy). I mean, during the WC/Shades of Cool/Ultraviolence verses her voice sounds deep too, comparable to Born To Die or Video Games. And i like that she keeps her style at least in some ways, I woulnd't like it if she began to sing like in her May Jailer - times again ... The only "different" kind of voice she uses 8and still uses) is the more girly-one, like in Lolita, Diet mountain Dew, Off To The Races and seemingly Brooklyn Baby.
  15. I meant more light in terms of sound and not lyrics^^ Where can I find all of the Itunes descriptions? PS: Could this be a promo for Brooklyn Baby?
  16. Brooklyn Baby is definitly going more into the DMD and Lolita direction in a way that it seems to be a more "light" and less dark song as well as it features her very "girly" way of singing. I really like it, although I am usually more into her darker songs. Almost thought that, but it was so tempting to say something about it ... pls forgive me
  17. I think both producers did a good job, BtD was a good album and every track suited the style of it. UV is going into another direction, so it's produced in a different way. but i have to say, I'm not too happy with the mastering of some of the songs we've heard yet ...
  18. Would be cool, since there are so many demos containing the topic, Every Man gets his Whish, 1959, heart Shaped Chevrolet, Hawaiian Tropic or Daytona Meth. Especially the Hawaiian Tropic vibes would fit UV
  19. You are right, you just misquoted the most important part "Everybody knows, they call me brooklyn baby" ;D
  20. Well, maybe it will feature some tracks, Brooklyn Baby could be a good radio track, MPG is said to be radio friendly ... But judging from what we heard so far there will be lots of very long tracks, with a very own style that won't be very suitable for a radio station. I mean, it would be really cool to hear something like SoC on the radio, but i can not imagine this will be happening. So BtD may not be a "radio-friendly"-album, however it features lots of songs which are more radiofriendly than what I expect UV to be. I mean, National Anthem, Born To Die, Blue Jeans, Radio, Off To The Races, Summertime Sadness .. they may not be typical Mainstream-chartlist songs, but a lot more radio-friendly than Shades of Cool, Black Beauty or Ultraviolence.
  21. Yeah, but Cruel World will be the opening, like the "extended live version" of Cola was for the Paradise Tour, so there is still space for an intro. The CO Theme would be awesome, especially the monologue. Imagine, Alex saying "This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit oft the old ultra-violence" and then Cruel World would start to play with Lana doing some of her "ohooohohoooos" behind the stage ... Pure awesomeness!
  22. Well, I guess it depends on what you imagined. It all sounds "cinematic" so far, "unlistenable" ... well, I guess this was a little bit of promo exaggeration, but we'll see. And it is infact dark, however maybe not in the way we thought it would be.
  23. I hope so, even though I will only listen to Brooklyn Baby in full, for the rest of the songs I wanna have the "album" experience when I get it on the 13th.
