  1. I think what he says is that Lana is not the kind of singer who deals alot with social critisicm. She sings about the topics she likes, as love, tragedy or sometimes, she's just describing a situation or feeling. I would never say that I do not consider lyrics important for songs and I think there still are very good songs about social aspects in our time. But I do not think of Lana as such a singer, since .. well, she's just not the person for this. not because her work is bad or because she's stupid. But she has described the influences for her lyrics often, and social criticism isn't one of them i guess.
  2. A close up and the complete picture of her lying in the flowers *_* And the front card also looks stunning .. Hope we'll get this images (digital) at some time.
  3. So .. they actually recorded a lot more scenes, like the one in the room with the boys, her being at the beach at night and her sitting around in the smoke while waring the red dress? And then they just chose to make the West Coast Video to consist of a few beach and one million daddy-in-the-car scenes with a few "red dress"-parts? Although I'm more into her darker tracks, I really like Brooklyn Baby, despite it being a very sugary song as it seems. It fits the name of the song and seems to have a great atmosphere, And maybe the lyrics won't be so sugary in the full version, you know like she's the sweet brooklyn baby and then something really bad happens, while she continues to sing in this sweet-girly way. I would realyl like to see that happen.
  4. Like with most of the other official Remices (except for example Dan Heath's Orchestral Remix) this one remixes the Radio Mix of the song, which has rerecorded vocals. "Mice check" is from the studio version though.
  5. Brooklyn Baby sounds like the love child of Summertime Sadness and Diet Mountain Dew.
  6. Though I would like to hear one ... You know, like .
  7. Well I guess the solo and her voice at this part aren't mixed perfectly. You don't know what is supposed to be the "main act" at this part of the song. Still it sounds very nice, but I also had to get used to it.
  8. Maybe there will be a Ultraviolence - Fucked My Way Up To The Top Edition for christmas, like it was with Paradise
  9. I think UV still has BtD sounds, not that it's something bad. SoC and WC sound different to BtD, which i really like, caus even tough I loved the era, it's getting boring if a singer does the same thing over and over again. Still, she#s Lana Del Rey she has her style, which is perfectly fine. But I also wouldnt consider any of these tracks as "jazz". Lana-Del-Rey-Jazz, yeah, but not what I would classify as "classic jazz music".
  10. The title song Ultraviolence reminds me of Born To Die in some ways. I mean, it's different of course, but it's a rather "violent theme" (obvious) and the violence and rythm and everything just seemed born to die - ish for me ^^
  11. I'd be ok with this if there were only two tracks on it, so ...
  12. this is what I was referring to: it will- I already asked it's from the ITH thread
  13. Well, I know that ITH is Itunes, but someone said that he/she asked FNAC if it's on the boxset and posted that it was that way if I'm not wrong ...
  14. That#s exactly what I mean Same here, itunes or amazon, or ... I don't care. well, seems like it's gonna end up like this if there really will be two more target-exclusive-tracks. I just - well - maybe wanted to be a little bit, well ... like, you know .. buy it cause i am really looking forward to the album. Don't know what came over me there
  15. well, idc so hard tbh what you think. when I preorder a cd I want to get the complete album, that's what bothers me. cause i know I am not going to be able to relax until I have every track aviable. well, even tough burning desire fits for paradise in my opinion, I get what you say. to clarify, my main concern is that I am not going to get all the tracks as long as we will be able to get the songs later too (in a legal way) without buying the album twice, maybe because she releases them as a download a few months later I am fine. Hm, the title sounds like you could really do interesting things with it. Like "things look different on the flipside" or something like that ...
  16. Thunder Revenant

    Song vs. Song

    Blue Jeans vs Body Electric
  17. it's not a 16 track album. And it's not exciting to know that even if u preorder a deluxe version, you don't get all the music. But yeah, I don't want to kill anyones happiness, I just don't think it's "yeah a new track we all get for the album!" but more of just another song you have to get extra.
  18. Yah, really amazing that the day the preorderd cd arrives I will still have to buy tracks and burn my own CD again to have a complete UV. Why can't she just put them on the basic album?
  19. I'd prefer to have one complete album instead of many tracks which are spread all over the place.
  20. This kind of things really ruin anticipation for me.
  21. Yeah, instead of releasing one complete Ultraviolence to us, she just spreads exclusive bonus tracks all over the place. Nope, I don't like that. I am happy for every new song, but why can't she just release them all together? I was ok with one bonus track for Itunes, you can just download there it and that's it. Now there is another one, which is NOT on Itunes, which means we all have to buy this version or download it illegaly. I like it that she's releasing lots of songs, but why in this messy, stupid way?
  22. Question of taste. I really love Burning Desire,. Well, if it's itunes exclusive, this ensures that more people will buy the album on Itunes or ATLEAST a lot of people will buy "This Is Happiness". Well, at least we all can access Burning Desire and This is Happiness via itunes, and are not bound to get a preorderversion-or-never-have-the-song (legally). Still, I would have prefered it to be (at least) on the limited physical album versions.
