  1. everything is so slow :/ i don't understand why she is going in this direction when her best songs are upbeat. could have thrown a couple in there to break up the monotony at least. maybe some will have tempo changes. but i'm not giving up hope yet bcos i really wasn't into the brooklyn baby snippet and the full song is just
  2. the zeitgeist movement isn't a cult, you guys.
  3. i vaguely remember rob saying she was on twitter. anyone have receipts?
  4. lana is really ignorant. i love her but i never, ever expected her to say she's a feminist and on some levels i'm glad she doesn't. i'd rather her be honest that she's not invested in feminism than pretend her shtick is ~sew empowering~ like miley does. we shouldn't look to celebrities to be our feminist icons because they will ALWAYS have to compromise to be appealing to the masses. i just wish she wouldn't speak about social issues like these and say "no comment" instead. she's too much of a privileged individualist to understand the importance of feminism.
  5. i am obsessed with lana and i know it's a reoccurring theme of hers, but i have trouble digesting the whole romanticization of abuse thing. ultraviolence is an absolutely beautiful song but it's ruined by "he hit me and it felt like a kiss." it's one thing to portray an abuse relationship, it's another to glorify it. i don't get it.
  6. star child hundred dollar bill (demo) hit & run (alternate version) dum dum come when you call me america put the radio on children of the bad revolution you & me // kiss to survive daddy issues my best days a star for nick last girl on earth playing dangerous pin-up galore disco live or die maha maha you're gonna love me // midnite dancer girlfriend ooh baby go go dancer party girl (st. tropez) queen of disaster backfire behind closed doors serial killer
  7. exactly my problem. i don't blame lana or any young girl for having an obsessive crush on their teacher, but he obviously stepped over the line. actually the way lana talks about lolita is pretty disgusting. she thinks it's a love story for crying out loud. no doubt because of that teacher.
  8. yeah, it's kind of forgettable. pretty, but it pales in comparison to what we have of "ultraviolence" and even "west coast."
  9. ergh, i'm really not into how the vocals are being mixed so far. so...murky and distant.
  10. every man gets his wish, blue jeans, hundred dollar bill, serial killer, trash magic...
  11. i hate this stupid practice of ranking women by hotness, but lana should definitely be higher.
  12. BOW. love this interpretation. makes me love the song even more.
