  1. this whole interview is so bizarre. stop. i don't want to hear about the pandemic, pls focus on the MUSIC!!
  2. THE ALTERNATE COVER IS PERFECT AND EVERYTHING HOW CAN I BUY IT IN THE US???
  3. She's so unreliable it's beyond frustrating at this point. Good thing I wasn't even looking forward to this. Bring on Chemtrails!
  4. I'm dreading it so much. She has no subtlety about it either. I'm especially cringing at those lyrics with #metoo. No thank you.
  5. I don't think this is right. I hear it as "Baby, let me count the ways," which also makes more sense in context because she's listing things that they could do together. Edit: You know, I don't know anymore. I can kind of hear the "v" in "waves." HmmmmMMmmm....
  6. I noticed this as well. L+F seems to be mostly sung in a high, airy head voice and it's lacking those deep, powerful vocals she gave us on her other albums. She plays with her voice a lot less these days.
  7. Exactly. I hate that people are trying to turn this into a negative thing. “In some ways suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning." --Victor Frankl, Auschwitz survivor and author of Man's Search for Meaning. I encourage everyone to give it a read.
  8. So fucking fabulous. What a supreme goddess she is! I love what she said about not being scared anymore. I'm so pumped to see how that manifests on this album. What did she mean about the 90 days in a facility thing? It made me think of "Behind the Iron Gates." Hmmm....
  9. We should all know better by now than to expect Lana to release things on time. I will be shocked if it drops on the 5th.
  10. It's absolutely awful. There's nothing aesthetically pleasing about it. The name (NFR) and the album cover are her worst to me.
  11. I wasn't excited for this at all, but I have to say I love the poems. I'm disappointed by the audio book, though. The music is great but the quality of the sound and the way her voice is recorded almost ruin it for me. I regret buying it but I'm looking forward to the actual book.
  12. I understand the arguments behind "ACAB." I used to spew ignorant stuff like that all the time. My issue is that saying "all ____ are ____" is a generalization and a cognitive distortion. I have no particular love for cops and I think the system absolutely needs reform, but there is a worrying trend right now to go to extremes and justify violence and bad behavior with "everyone I don't like or disagree with is an evil Nazi." But I don't want to get too off-topic. I hope Lana finds someone who will really value her. She deserves it. And I hope fans give her the space to have that.
  13. Beware of cognitive distortions: Splitting diffuses the anxiety that arises from our inability to grasp the nuances and complexities of a given situation or state of affairs by simplifying and schematizing it. In addition, it reinforces our idea of ourselves as good and virtuous by effectively discounting and even demonizing all those who do not share in our views and values. Lana fans thinking they can dictate who she dates is sad.
  14. Wow, I'm in love with the idea of her calling herself Liz Woolridge. What a cool name!
  15. This is stupid. I'm of Mexican descent, live on the border, and guess what: cholo/chola culture isn't some protected sacred religious thing. People just want to feel morally superior about this. There are real problems in the world and this ain't one.
  16. You said it all. I'm hoping she gives up the woke/pc bullshit and makes interesting art again that may piss some people off. Not for the sake of being controversial, but for the sake of being honest and free.
  17. I disagree. It has a lot to do with it. The brain doesn't fully develop until age 25. If you've lived through your late twenties, for example, you know what a transformative experience it is and what a difference maturity makes. Of course, some people never mature in the ways they are supposed to. Damn. You summed it up perfectly. I think she's very unhappy trying to please everyone and I wish she'd just say 'fuck it.'
  18. I'm really confused. I've been around since BtD and I don't recall anyone calling Lana a whore or her having a "slutty" image. Like, when? She has so many things she could actually complain about in terms of how she is perceived but that's not one of them.
  19. omg i can't take this. falkdjfasdlkfjasdf drop the album tho honestly, i have to laugh at all of it. it's absurd.
  20. i really wish lana could be strong enough to not care about backlash and controversy. i think she is the one holding herself back. when you look at the transition from UV to honeymoon you can really see how she stopped letting us in so much. why does she have to identify as a feminist? why does she have to have all the supposedly "correct" opinions to be respected? why can't she be messy and real? one reason i adore her unreleased songs is because of the endless imagination and fantasy she expresses in them. she created her own world. she wrote herself into existence. that's what i want--not some sanitized PC bullshit. the problem is lana is too sensitive and wants to be adored as much as she wants to express her true self. but you can't please everyone and she shouldn't bother. i'd respect her a lot more if she grew thicker skin.
  21. you know what would have worked? if she just said something like: "i'm sick of holding myself back so people don't criticize me or my work. from now on, i'm going to sing about exactly whatever the fuck i want and not apologize for it. new album coming in september, get ready." imagine the hype she would have created?!
  22. i'm glad she's taking more chances with her lyrics and voice again! exciting.
  23. well...she sure looks healthy and unbothered. (but why won't she stop injecting the bridge of her nose WHHHYYYyyYYY?)
