  1. forgive my ignorance, but what is it mashed up with?? I love it like this. EDIT: oh, I see. A Clean Bandit song? No wonder it reminded me of Baby.
  2. thanks for this post. i wonder how many of these comments are coming from men who have no idea what it is like to be judged for not putting a mask on every day. lana is comfortable with herself and that's all i can hope for any woman. i think criticism of her laziness when it comes to promotion and her music is beyond fair--but she doesn't need to dress up for anyone if she doesn't want to. she doesn't owe us glamor when she's obviously so over it.
  3. omg does she say "strange weather" at the end? now my username applies to both my faves I like the song a lot, but I think it will be a bit of a grower. Ready for the album and glad we don't have to wait that long.
  4. Oof. Enjoyed it up until "black narcissist." Not okay, and even if she didn't mean it that way people are going to link it to her calling Kanye a narc on Instagram. Stupid, stupid lyric. I am disappointed in her.
  5. What exactly is masculine about a woman in her natural state (that is, without makeup)? She's not in drag. She's just not the over-the-top beauty queen that shallow fans want her to be anymore. Femininity is imposed upon women, so yeah, there is something wrong with that. I, for one, am loving natural Lana. She has shed all pretense and I'm happy for how far she has come to be this comfortable with herself. It's not easy.
  6. this theme was perfect for her she went all out!!
  7. yikes, i have been enjoying this tour so much (her attitude! her ad-libs! her lyric and melody changes! actually performing songs off her latest album!) but seeing the show in full (on the the professionally recorded livestreams that we luckily got this era) has made these exact issues sorely stand out. certainly they can alter the songs to make them shorter/in a different key? or alter/omit sections she wants to avoid? i'd prefer that to her letting the backing track/audience sing for her. "get free" is an example of lana at her best this tour. you can tell she believes in this song. there is the right amount of audience interaction and it's shortened so she can give it her all. "and the darkness out of MY art. . ." interesting. i'm ready for a happier lana.
  8. well...singing a song in the studio is a completely different experience from performing it live, which is more unpredictable. on the other hand, does lana rehearse much for her tours? because it comes off like she doesn't--she could overcome these things by taking the time to plan out ahead adjustments to songs and such. love isn't even her most challenging song!
  9. i think lana doing collabs was important in her journey. i remember writing and seeing so many comments on here begging for lana to switch it up and do something out of her comfort zone, and she did! i don't really care for the outcome of those collabs, lol, but i hope they have inspired her to do new things and take risks on her next album. i only want a marina collab in the future, no one else.
  10. omg i love how prolific she is i need new songs already
  11. i'm not sure which one she actually uses, but there is a brand that makes lana-inspired lashes! https://www.ash-lash.com/collections/frontpage/products/lana-lana
  12. i thought courtney love said that lana doesn't do drugs or drink at all? hmm. weird. i would hate to see lana struggle with alcoholism again
  13. i totally disagree. we already have an album version, and for some songs we have 10,000 performances of them. i love when lana switches it up and imo, her voice is made to go with some sexy, wailing guitars. my biggest problem is that i wish she'd ditch the backing tracks (or at least have them lower or actually sung by her backup dancers). her voice is so light and airy that a stripped back performance would really allow it to shine.
  14. I haven't heard any of this show but I think her vocal variability is normal...as someone who is a singer myself (but not professionally trained), I know that confidence in your voice can change depending on SO MANY THINGS--the weather, traveling, stress, just anything. A guitar player can get their strings fixed easily but a vocalist's success depends on so many more delicate things. And if she is smoking? Yeah, that doesn't help.
  15. and it's not even dark. the verses are basically meaningless fluff and then she says it ISN'T the end of america blah blah hope~ i mean, i love the song for what it is but "dark"? lol.
  16. Heavy Hitter, The Man I Love, Hit It & Run (the alternative version), Serial Killer, TV In Black & White The Ultraviolence demos: Your Girl, Yes to Heaven, Fine China
  17. omg i'm so mad for letting myself get worked up that she would either sing wayamaya OR film the cherry video. sigh.
  18. Last night, I dreamt that Lana was driving me around and I asked her if she'd sing "Wayamaya" tonight. She said no And that in fact, she had been instructed by her managers to come to this board under a false name and write random songs she should sing so everyone would get confused and forget about "Wayamaya." NEVER!!
  19. FIIIIVE heart emojis! larina is alive and breathing!!
  20. lol, right? she has so many songs that glorify drug use or at least mention it, but tbh i'm glad she doesn't even smoke weed. NORMIE QUEEN, goals.
  21. the cover is horrible but the other photos are gorgeous.
