"lust for life" is a grower! my favorite track so far. who else is vibing with the direction lana is heading in? idk how old y'all are, but i'm in my late 20s & i totally get what lana is saying about feeling like she grew up all of the sudden over the past few years. i love that she is taking a risk again--this time for speaking her mind, politically. not everyone is going to like that, but she doesn't need to cater to those people. the only way to avoid being criticized is to have no opinion, & i'd rather lana have one. i know i'm sounding like graham4anything (respect ) but everything about this era feels legendary to me. already i feel like we've gotten so much more than we did w/honeymoon.

i can't quite put my finger on it, but is anyone else getting butterflies (pt. 1) vibes anywhere in the song? i finished listening to LFL and then i caught myself singing butterflies but maybe i'm crazy.

 why would she be saying that to herself? her fame is obviously not over and she seems in a more comfortable place with it than ever. she's not breaking up with herself. why would she tell herself "I told you?" Tell me how that treats you now i mean, ouch. as mournful as the song is, there's also a slight feeling of vindication in that chorus. now she's sitting on her throne looking down at his mistakes and naming her own album Best American Record. does anyone else get that from it?
