strange weather

groupie love & summer bummer are heavenly. it makes me laugh when people say lana has sold out or lowered herself by featuring rappers. SB is such a classic lana song--a little strange, dripping with atmosphere and sensuality. it's a risk, one that has seemed to turn off a lot of casual fans (judging by fb comments, yikes), but i'm glad she took it anyway. after honeymoon, i wasn't sure she'd ever change it up again. even with the LFL snippets, i almost don't know what to expect from the album. i can't wait to savor every song.

"in my feelings" stood out the most to me. i hate to say it but the rest of the snippets all kind of ran together

i wish lana could see this. aside from that one lady, everyone else appreciated her even before hearing the actual songs!! these elders have great taste. it made me a bit emo because lana doesn't get appreciated enough by non-stans.

omg, this warmed my cold dead heart. i love people appreciating her genius. i wasn't surprised at all by their reactions.

i meant that lana is experimenting with different sounds, unlike honeymoon where all the songs sounded in the same vein. she's never had a released song like this one. she's taking chances this time around and i for one have been waiting for her to do so.

people who have no faith in LFL will be eating their words soon enough. experimental lana is alive & breathing i did not imagine this would be the album we'd be getting after honeymoon...

i have to disagree for the most part. you enjoyed the controversy of her saying she wished she were dead and feminism is boring? you enjoyed her scrapping a big budget video for an afterthought on an iphone camera? (even the west coast video was looked at as a big disappointment on here.) you enjoyed her ignoring UV on tour? she abandoned the album after about 3 months, so "halfway in" wasn't even that long. HM era sucked worse, don't get me wrong, but i think people are looking back at the UV era with rose-tinted glasses because the album itself was so great.

why do people forget how bleak the UV era actually was? sure, she looked great and there was a more consistent aesthetic but she was horribly depressed and saying stupid stuff and abandoned the album prematurely.

nah, that's not true. people with codependency issues find themselves in relationships with people who have addiction or other mental health issues over and over again. if anyone takes the time to look at their own dating history, they will start to see patterns. it's not a rare thing. lana said it herself: "In the past, sometimes I’ve had lovers who’ve told me strange things, things I should have found unacceptable, but I closed my eyes. That doesn’t happen to me anymore. At the smallest indication of something strange, I get out. A love story that doesn’t do you any good is toxic. I finally understand that." it took her a long time to realize her unhealthy dating patterns.

fuuuuck this new song sounds amazing. emotional. real. everyone keeps saying the hype is dead but i am so fucking hyped for this album

so lana finally takes a risk and goes outside of her comfort zone--which is what the majority of people were rightfully complaining about due to honeymoon--and now there are meltdowns about the supposed "cohesion" of the album?? fuck, i'll take an album that is all over the place and has surprises in store rather than a monotonous collection of slow-paced dirges. & i love honeymoon, but cmon now. the worst thing she could have done was make a honeymoon 2.0. but lana is clearly inspired this time around. i can't wait for the album!!!!

chuck needs to be filming a behind the scenes/making of the album. i'm sure i'm not the only one who is dying to know more about her process in the studio.

neither aly nor aj have tweeted about it, but there's a new single called "take me" on spotify. hope we get news about the album and it's not just a one-off.

y'all are crazy saying it was bad. it's unfortunate af that cherry & LFL got fucked over by the sound because the last 3 songs sounded AMAZING and lana's look was on point.

er, what? this is his literal career so HE is the professional and it is his obligation to not be so messy. the fans aren't--we're not getting paid. if he doesn't know how to deal with lana's fanbase then he should get another job. i'm not even mad about the release date. it is what it is, but his comments are unnecessary and petty. ofc fans are upset by the way this has been handled. he should take responsibility and DO BETTER.
