  1. Don't get this. I'm pointing on the abuse of cosmetical surgery, which is a huge problem within the environments Lana frequents, and a problem with a huge gender dimension. Her, as many other women on the entertainment industries are symbolically forced to manipulate their bodies to be accepted or to survive on their bussinesses, no matter how powerful their artistic vision is. I'm not blaming Lana for it, I'm pointing her as a victim of this shit. Depicting the seriousness of the matter on Lana's case is not for me a thing to get a WP for, but a way to empathize with her. Maybe the language wasn't the most accurate or sensitive, and I hope the thing gets clarified now.
  2. Am I the only one who thinks she looks atrocious with all that shit done to her face? Like, her cheeks seem like they are going to explode, and not even all the makeup done above her eyes get to make her face look near to balanced. She needs to stop destroying herself Would agree if The Other Woman didnt exist
  3. Hey, what's that postcard you have on your signature? "Rita.H" from Canary Islands?
  4. This video is the craziest shit she's done ever, and it came from fucking nowhere. I can't love her more right now.
  5. Hey As this thread is gonna be closed in a matter of hours, and the hype built on this site around NFR will finally - and deservedly- decrease, just wanna thank you all for the last year here. You are the funniest, smartest and craziest people I've found on the net. Big hug from Spain to you all!
  6. Hey I guess the main thing with it is listening to it without aesthetical expectations based on her previous work -if that's possible-. It has surprised me a lot, and there's things still don't really work for me on it -HTD, why, why...-, but some songs I thought were crap -HIAB- sound now like the most representative signs of the path her music is going to take from now on, and that's everything but crap. I'm expecting to read reviews after it's release too, I think it's gonna help me think on a more coherent way about the project, and also the time has to go by and let the music make sense for itself. Don't despair, sure it'll end being a huge beautiful trip!
  7. Fuck. Just listened to the whole HQ thing. This project is anything but sad -as i thought listening to the casette recordings-. It's quite the oppossite. It's truly funny, its sarcastic to the core. The production is raw and extremely polished at the same time, her voice sounds beautiful and joyful, the end of HIADT is just genius. This album is a dramatic move on her career, there's not coming back from here. She will make the music industry tremble again. Oh, fuck, Lana del Rey...
  8. I loved the pictures, but understand your point. I think what makes them weird -as all of her last pictures, IMO-, is the fact that she looks so inexpressive, same as she did in the Vogue ones. I'm sure it has to do with the surgeries she's done to herself, it's like she's built another whole face above hers. I find the topic quite worrying. I don't want Lana, a woman with a beauty that is beyond words, to become the Courtney Cox of her generation.
  9. Ye, that's exactly what I had in mind! FIILY was a "decent" leak -compared to the crap that those recordings were-, and it was such a surprise to listen how the HQ audio sounded. I'm curious to hear the rest!
  10. Listening to the snippet of FIILY on the video, the quality rise against the leaked version seems very big. The difference that it makes surrounding the effect of the song is really noticeable. That actually makes me think that the HQ production of the whole album may actually change some of the judgements we've done listening to the leaks. Iknow this is a point that many of you have focused in on your posts, but I mean... Even if the structure of the songs will of course be the same, maybe the increase on the production's quality will make a big difference on the whole thing. Let's hope!
  11. So dissapointed there's no grow-your-moths kit in sight.
  12. Here reading the comparisons amongst NFR and HM and they just don't make any sense. They are nothing but absolutely different in gender and production terms. The change on NFR from what she's done before is so huge that it's no longer possible to understand it as a piece of the Lana del Rey we knew until LFL. Even if she brought something new on each of her previous albums, they all were structured towards her bombastic, opulent and distant queen persona, all the sound was quite theatrical and evocative of the character she was building. There's absolutely nothing left from that on NFR. Not a single trail of the grandiloquent sound and mindset she was developing since Born to Die. So, most of all, to avoid dissapointments from judging the album from an outdated vision, try to expect something absolutely new. If you don't, the fall may be huge and painful. And there's surely things to be enjoyed and highlighted in her new sound and artistic otuput, so no need for falling, actually.
  13. Nowhere. He played a role on NFR's production/engineering, according to credits.
  14. Don't think it will make a big difference, honestly. The leaks are clear enough to know what we should expect and, sadly, what's coming doesn't seem to be half as good as some of her other albums.
  15. Videogames had a rich vocal development and a dynamic and beautiful composition and structure, little bridge included. Sorry to say that it's not the case with Love Song. Even if it's not ugly, it doesn't have anything that catches the listeners attention, at least that was the thing for me.
  16. I think it's one of the few songs of the album that could have a consistent structure.
  17. Hey. Anyone else found California to be boring and structurally plain?
  18. It reminds me of Emilie Autumn's "Mad girl" or "Gaslight", maybe more to the last one because of the waltz vibe
  19. Yet NFR found space to host fucking party dresses again. So not much better.
  20. Feeling quite conflicted right now about the album. Like it doesn't make sense at all for the moment.
  21. Better for artwork cover than the UO one
  22. That's a good question. Most of the songs on NFR have such a weird production that they'll have to be rearranged to work for a live performance (as they did with most of VB). And I'm also curious about which the lineup and the stage will be for the NFR concert. It doesn't sound like a band-oriented album, and the dancers would do like zero sense. By the way, NFR title track (plus a little intro) would be an incredibly beautiful opener.
  23. The production is, at least, controversial. I've noticed many of the things you are pointing, but I guess they were made absolutely on purpose. As well, Lana uses her voice in a way that sounds as she was deeply drugged during most of the recordings -which I think may be actually the reason behind it-. She sings as she doesn't care at all, as if no one is listening to her, and I think that makes the album absolutely special. This has nothing to do with anything she's done before, not even her Lizzy songs. I'm really willing to read the reviews by the big media critics. I guess they won't know how the fuck react to this album either.
  24. I just can't with this thread. Each epic post is more epic than the last one
