Okay the fact that she's deleting comments seems to be very telling about the album. I wouldn't be surprised if she has scrapped it after all this time. @@GeminiLanaFan I know you're gonna pull your hair out at my comment, but something smells fishy here right now, so I can't help but really wonder if this is the case.

Maybe not even scrapped it, but she could be re-working some new songs to replace the 'oldies' MAC and VB. I mean c'mon. It would be ridiculous to keep them on NFR even though your entire fanbase has heard them since last year. But I could be wrong too.

Who knows what's up. Maybe Lana just wanted everyone to focus on DT, but is instead being bombarded with NFR questions so she got salty and is deleting them out of annoyance. This isn't a drag @ anyone who asked her about NFR, I would have done the same tbh.

    But yeah...something's up.

Yeah, so so glad she managed to find homophobic saddies for friends    she really hasn't done anything destructive since being friends with them. Like holding off on an album for so long critics are getting bored, or driving in a car while filming and posting it to ig. So glad she dropped her last round of 'homeless drug addicts or schizos' (classy) for those angels.

It's the fact she dropped the poverty-porn persona the second she realised singing about diamonds and rich daddies would get her further than pretending to be a 'trailer park queen' but alright, pretend like people are being irrational. u do u.

imagine the sheer impact if we'd never heard any snippets and she'd just released the damn thing. imagine those first few listens. imagine how one track would sit next to another and potentially change our enjoyment of each one when listened to as a whole. FFS

and her insta saddie friends are mentoring her on how to create an instagram baby lifestyle brand to capitalize off it, and the hillsong visits are to establish a sense of community before her baby is baptized into the fold of Hillsong Jesus

I don't remember everything she's ever said, but yes, I have.

It's hard to believe she was never commercially driven. Her constant attempts to make it in the music industry and her obsession with fame indicate otherwise. You're right, she had no way of knowing for sure that she was going to blow up, but that was the plan nonetheless. A plan that had failed before, and could have failed again. But it didn't. In 2010-2011, she wasn't living in a trailer cooking meth & waitressing at Ruby Tuesday's, minding her own business and making videos just for fun. She was making moves. She was meeting with producers, managers, label executives, etc, going from NY to London to LA and back. She didn't wake up to millions of views on her VG video and Jimmy Iovine outside her door begging her to sign a contract. Success didn't happen overnight. She planned it, she worked for it, and she went to great lengths to achieve it.

Did I say she was the first to do it? Or the only one? She definitely revived (lel) that trend, but it's been around for centuries, and I think everyone knows that.

no one said she didn't have problems. you're purposefully not reading what's been said, we were specifically talking about trauma and her potentially covering subjects there's no indication she has personal experience of as part of a 'persona'
being denied financial support but also knowing you conditionally have financial support to fall back on if you make lifestyle changes is entirely different from socioeconomic based poverty where you die in the gutter with no other options, so yes.. although it was bad for her it DOES sound privileged compared to a lot of others circumstances sorry

We're not talking about King Diamond here though. This is Lana "So Legit" Del Rey. Someone who has been defending the authenticity of their art for years. Obviously we should have been smart enough to realize she was flat out lying, but well, we weren't. At least some of us, including myself. Call me Boo Boo the Fool, I got played and that's a fact. Kudos to you for not falling for it. You get all the cookies. Happy?

I feel like it kinda is a big deal when you're 33 years old and you have many young, impressionable fans who may try to emulate you, but that's just me.

I sound like my mum and it's upsetting me; so I'm done with this topic, haha

What has been going on in here today

@@Ben Mawson tell Lana to pull her finger out of her ass and release the damn album before we go even more insane.

It’s really different from that. Take for example Regina Spektor: basically all her songs are different stories about people that are most definitely not her. The thing is, even if she sings in first person, it’s clear the divide.
Lana has gone out of her way to “live” the poor life and write about it, so much that she is now famous for those themes (only I would say). Lana dedicates entire albums to gangsters and daddies and it’s clear it’s not just a story, but a persona.
Also by what you said you mean that writers can write stories about things that they have experienced, which is not even that true. Like i’m not American and I would never write a story set in the us bc I don’t know what it’s like to live there, and it would come across as not genuine and fake.

The thing is this not a critique/I’m not getting mad at her. Just a statement that I thought everybody on here would’ve been on board with
I don’t care if she sings about livin with a gangsta and riding motorbikes in New Jersey in 1956 while spying for the Russian government wearing an auburn wig. Just saying that when you spend records talking about it and your life is so clearly detached from it it’s interesting to talk about it.
But it’s clear you can’t raise points on ethics/morals here lmao

Most of all, it raises a few questions about where her head is at right now.

She's putting on this big Insta baddie wannabe act and everyone's all, "leave her alone, she's HAPPY!" but this video was pretty fucking reckless. Like ... her eyes are barely on the road, at some points they're even closed, no seat belt, one hand on the wheel, etc ... Jesus.

Does a happy and clean person  in a good headspace do this type of thing? I don't know if they do. It demonstrates a complete disregard for her own well-being and that of others. To me, she's either not doing as wonderfully as she'd have us believe, and/or her ego has gotten so large that she thinks she can't die in a car crash like any other mere mortal.

You know, and I don't think she flipped the video for fun. I think she thought she could fool everyone into not noticing that she was driving by doing so. Which is also problematic.

I'm so here for her crazy, but not at the expense of her well-being and that of others.

Huh we all thought sis was being lazy, but it looks like Lana's plan to be more appealing to new demographics like straight men or conservatives is working full force.
