This is exactly how I feel. Like "2012 tumblr flower crowns" has nothing on melanie's fanbase. The swearing thing too, like girl, we know you aren't 7 years old IRL, it isn't shocking, even as an aesthetic contrast.I do think CB was one of the most interesting mainstream releases of 2015, but I really do believe she can top it. 

I feel like this era has been a decade. CB did not age well t b h   I still use some stuff from it but I really hope her writing has improved 

Lana always drops like a rock. There was no follow up, other people started releasing their shit, radio play isn't exactly stretching far and wide. Hell, they weren't eve READY to promote it when it dropped. Her fanbase is full of Bernistas (liberals over the age of 20 exists, WOW) and the men who love them. This is not about politics, and even if it was, some of you should GROW A SPINE and realize that she chose to put those view points out there, and always has viewed art above charts. She's on the charts with people who straight up performed at the DNC and released songs called "Government Hooker". Calm down. The song is a flop for the same reasons Lana's other songs are flops. Her management team doesn't have it together and her stans are too trigger happy with the leaking. Also, this weird ass weather means that it might be better to get something upbeat out in the US sooner rather than later. Love is cute, but it is pure distilled Lana. Personally I find it unrelatable and alienating, but it sounds nice, but not much else can be said of it. The MV is fantastic and overshadows the song in every way possible.

I agree, except for the fact that no one who isn't us believes that National Anthem isn't ironic. Her image is so solidified as sincere in its admiration of the America of yore ("dark side" of it or not) that it would fall flat and almost look hypocritical to anyone who isn't a stan. She'd be better off laying off of those tropes for a bit. Glamour, youth, love,obsession  etc don't necessarily have to be tied to the past, which we see on Love and even Honeymoon. Plus we have TONS of unreleased material that proves she can write- well, from other perspectives.

Why do so many of you have to be so zzzzz  faux pretentious and boring "wow hope none of these songs have any actual rhythm! Acoustic heavy breathing only!" Then she puts Honeymoon, the closest thing to a compromise anyone is getting, and your're bored or hate the trap influences or w/e

SS didn't become a hit when it leaked, or at release.. so it's not like Love is 100% DOA. Early march and the (hopefully) tail end of the latest pop radio hits isn't a great time for something that could be pitched as a cute spring song. If BAR is the next single, it's not going to do anything on radio unless they boost the production quite a bit, and we all know Lana will be bored and giving vague interviews about the direction of LDR6 by the time a third single should be rolling around. So Love will be carrying the whole album cycle anyway. 

Let's get some baseless speculation going on something else:
Honeymoon had only one singular explicit song on it (the lead single, ironically). We all love hearing Lana sassily swear. Is she going to leave us to suffer again  I need another FMWUTTT sis PLEASE
