And DGE being preceded by Restraint felt very natural. Not sure if Back In Town is a good opening to the album but I don't know where else to put it. And damn, Prayer Factory needed to be a full song.

Ty Dolla $ign) west side love language nasty worst behavior / someone like u obvious pov *main thing and test drive are not sonically similar but lyrically they're very much in the same line. They're placed in the same track in the style @Inferno Euphoria suggested, and I used the same for worst behavior / someone like u. *test drive directly blends into motive. It actually is a pretty neat transition, although it's the only one in the album. *west side is an extended edit featuring a small bridge with the pre-chorus in a voicenote EQ, followed by a third chorus (2:55 rather than 2:12). *love language lacks the outro.

In the last page you can read what happened with that song. Frankmusik sent the song to Sky to record it before Ellie (who already had recorded it) released it. Ellie realised and Frankmusik told Sky to take it down as she already had posted it on MySpace (which she shouldn't have because she didn't have permission to). But yeah, it essentially was a cover. The thing is that Ellie was already scheduled to release the song, and Frankmusik didn't have to send the song to Sky to record it.

Lol it all came because we were discussing her covers. But true, leak something pls! Love Wish I Stayed but this time, it was not Sky. The producer fucked up and gave Sky the song without Ellie's permission dddd what a mess.

Yeah that leads to confusion. It seems kinda ridiculous that Sky covered a song and used the same producer than that of the final Ellie version, but afaik Sky was not involved in writing it. I can only think of two reasons why Sky could've demoed the track: 1) That Sky wrote it for Ellie, which I'm 99% certain it didn't happen; and 2) That Ellie wrote it and at one point she pitched the song to Sky (who was recording songs written by other people at the time, i.e. Ryan Tedder etc.) but either she/the label rejected it, or Ellie ultimately decided to keep the song to herself as it was too personal for Ellie. That, and the fact that Sky's version is later (unless it leaked after Ellie released), only leaves me thinking it's a cover, although once again, how fancy from Sky getting the same producer of the final song to produce her cover. EDIT: Frankmusik (Vincent Turner) spilled the T on it: Conclusion: it was an *unauthorised* cover.

I'd bet it is because of the vinyl production. It usually is a long and expensive process, so I'm not surprised. Now if she wanted to do a simultaneous release with digital and physicals at the same time, we'd get it till next year, so I'm glad digital is coming first tbh.

Thought the last song he did for her was Volcano, but went to check up the Sexorcism credits and he's all over it so yeah, there's chances he still writes for her I guess

Wish I Stayed is not a demo, is a cover. Wish I Stayed was released in 2009 as a promo single from Goulding's debut Lights, and actually written solely by Goulding, while Sky covered it the following year.

So basically the ones from the first section are all prior to NTMT no? The way she actually has material to release a cover album to hold people over while finishing Masochism... I know Blue Velvet and All the Madmen were live and Easy was for the Baby Driver soundtrack, but I'm pretty sure she has some in the vault that we don't know yet. It would've been a nice move after the Voices Carry release on Soundcloud: a whole cover album (or a 8-track EP if you will) in 2019, then Downhill Lullaby in late 2021, Don't Forget 2022, maybe another single mid-summer and the album in the fall. Maybe the wait wouldn't have felt this loooong.

The good side of writing outside Cry Baby's story Tbh none of the songs that leaked from the MM3 sessions sound alligned to the Cry Baby story to me AND I'm saying this as a very positive thing.
