that article doesn't sound like lana at all, she hasn't really shown much "savviness" in marketing. also "the artist feels there are compensation problems on streaming platforms" doesn't sound like lana at all, radiohead maybe idk, they've criticised it. ugh, tired of multi-millionaires complaining about normal people not spending all of their money on music

Shes been making the music she wants since BTD so i dont see why now all of a sudden she'd succumb to record execs and do EDM. Other than a small group of 18 year old gays, no one is keen on EDM Lana, thats not what shes about.

The genre was intended to be less "wild" than rock music at the time,[4] and a less commercial, more serious and "mature" offshoot of the genre.[4] Baroque pop may be distinguished from progressive rock, which also uses classical instrumentation, by its generally simpler song structures closer to standard pop song writing, and also by its more mainstream lyrical content as opposed to the generally conceptual lyrics associated with later progressive rock.[5]

Baroque pop, stylistically, fuses elements of pop and rock with classical music, often incorporating instruments not common to popular music such as harpsichords, clavichords, violins, cellos and other strings, oboes and French horns. It is also generally characterised by highly orchestral,[4] lush instrumentation. Common elements of baroque pop also include layered melodies, sophisticated productions and prominent harmonies.[4] Traditionally, baroque pop is also generally quite melancholic and dramatic music,[4] which contrasts it from its more cheerful counterpart, sunshine pop.[5]

what does this even mean [if it ain't baroque don't fix it]
and tbh I don't think Lana really covers that many genres ~ sonically.  Not mo town, and the electronic genre was done by cedric gervais. Not saying she doesn't have the capacity to cover other genres, but that's not her current m.o.  She found the sound that she seemed to have been seeking for a while w/ Born to Die and I don't think Ultraviolence will stray far from that, she's found her market and I'm sure she's gonna stick to it. anyone expecting a sound completely different from btd or tpe will probably be disappointed

I started queuing about 13 hours before the concert, at 6 am. I got to the very middle of the front row and was crushed the entire time. It's extremely uncomfortable, probably more uncomfortable than being punched and kicked occasionally at a punk show but it's worth it if you want to get something signed or just want to be close to Lana. If you're short and are a few rows back you might not see much. She was also like 1 1/2 hours late...

Thats what I was thinking, im sure once those are created, much more discussion can start. I know people watch tv and movies, read books and play video games

its just that nudge to create these to make discussions.

I feel like maybe it looks a little too much like an ad but I'd really like something simple like this (especially on an LP omg):

She was being very defensive there and I think she was talking about the backlash she got (not 100% sure though) when she said that, I thought it was a bit immature but whatever. I kind of hope she doesn't win a Grammy or gets nominated for an Oscar tbh. They don't seem to mean that much too her and it'll just pressure her even more.

Yeah, I know everyone says it without meaning it but I don't think Lana has ever actually said something like that, it's just something I gathered from her not constantly talking about how much she's sold, obsessing over her placing on the iTunes Charts and always pushing her fans to buy her stuff like I've seen with other pop stars. She's been posting Tropico quite a lot but probably because she's really proud of it. I've actually wondered how she got whoever financed this to do it. I mean, it must have cost quite a lot and I doubt it's bringing in that much money. The tickets to the premiere were free and you don't actually make that much money from iTunes sales (I'm surprised how well she's doing in the iTunes charts, I didn't think a lot of people were going to pay for stuff we already have). Regarding Paradise, I think Lana said her label didn't like it that much but she managed to put it out, make a music video for Ride and an entire short film so I guess she has a lot of say in what happens with her career. I think David Kahne or somebody else she worked with also said that she's very stubborn and doesn't just let other people decide stuff for her.

I would, if I wanted to read them. And is Eminem really more misogynistic than other rappers? I think a lot of his lyrics are satirical or he's trying to get a reaction (Criminal for example). John Lennon beat his first wife, Michael Gira from Swans used to beat up fans at his shows if he didn't like the way they were dancing, Gucci Mane killed a guy... Those are the ones I can think of right now, there's much much more. I don't care too much about the artists I listen to but if I find out they're assholes I don't really care that much. Some horrible people have made amazing music and films and I don't want to restrict myself from listening to and watching those just because their creators have done some shitty things.

I think it's mostly the make-up, sometimes when she's wearing that brown lipstick and weird eye make-up she can look a lot older but when she's more natural she'll look a lot younger. People also look better and younger when they're happy and she looks pretty sad in those pictures imo.

These were taken the same day and I think she looks years older in the second one:
