Been thinking maybe all she listen to are these 128kb edited files from her own demos and that's why she's so unsure about the mixing stuff.

Omg thank you. The way that's actually better than some of her professional work...... mess.

If I remember correctly, she also mentioned filming something in her house\on her own for Doghouse and since it (the song) leaked, I guess these are going to be upcoming singles.
She's ready omg.

Seems like. It was mentioned that Sculpture was being worked after CLX I release.
Glam and Tongue Tied are tagged as "Demo" while "Sculpture" isn't so I really think it might be a different version.

Ok this thread being bumped is interesting. I was reading about her yesterday and I had no fucking clue her second album was such a cursed story nnn. I was following til around Utopia leak and the EDM shift didn't feel beneficial. Like... It was all very generic. Army Of Love felt like a right step because there was personality. That middle-8 was... incredible. Then Zero Gravity was alright but Lucky Ones and most of the album\EP felt very much "random european girl dropping bops".
The whole "now I'm leaving LA to live like a fairy in the forest and live my music!!11" didn't really grab me but at least it felt way more realized and honest. I also remember some controversy about COVID and Masks but unsure of what she actually said nnn.
Still, the whole timeline from... "Love Is Dead -> (Weapons Of Mass Creation) -> (Utopia Full Lenght) -> Utopia EP -> (ROOTS) -> Shadow Works is very interesting.
On a random note, does anybody here have the Speed Limit demo from like 2011? The one that wasn't an overproduced mess\more raw.

The video is sooo Good. It's a fun "on budget" thing and works way better than Daddy AF back then. She's stepping it up with the Camera-Relationship and she's really serving IT factor with the choreo and all.
I guess the album leaking is not 100% surprising but it's sad that it's still 5 months away.

Yeah I think she'll want this to be a proper roll-out and nothing like the Mixtape. I also think there might be a possibility of a deluxe\re-release later down the line with extra songs tacked along since that's been a industry trend lately.
But yeah, it's a bit odd to drop another single now and then 6 months til the album. Throatzillaaa should have been saved for the album only since the lyric video was useless but I guess they also expected to drop the album earlier. There will be probably another single around April.

tbh I think she had a release date set for every year since 2015.... "60 DAYS" "WINTER" "SPRING".
The whole thing is very crazy. If you lean on trying to understand what happened you'll probably end up mad or something.

@PARADIXO I think i've seem the thread before but don't remember clicking on it and feel guilty now!
What an incredible vision to analyse as a whole. Honeymoon has always been overlooked even if it was most praised album before NFR! came in and rocked the table, and there was some interesting dissonance between critics and fans over the whole record. It was well received by the media but the fans weren't feeling it, and many still don't. I took some time to actually digest it too and realize how well crafted the album and the whole concept were. How everything is delicate, intricate and warm. Honeymoon is very warm. Seein' it through "time travel" is some next level "which season is each album" (lol).
I'm truly amused by your writing complementing her lyrics. Beautiful job.

By the time she releases the album (aka never) I'm expecting a full "MASOCHISM THE FULL BUNDLE featuring the ALBUM, the VISUAL-EP-DVD, The Sky-Tell-It-All Magazine, The Meaning Of Sky Ferreira full book about HERstory, Playboy Magazine, the Love in Stereo music video, Downhill Lullaby (alternative mix) and like all the shit the she mentioned\teased\said she'd explain later. All with colored vinyl for sure.
Oh and the NTMT ReRelease

Chemtrails Ball Tour will be a moment for sure.
Beautiful setup, hope they'll put some of this effort on music videos instead of doing iPhone Footage.

just desserts was the epitome of wit and swagger to 13 y/o me
I don't think people have it because I don't think it actually exists. And even if it exists, I really think most of it was just Electra Heart early songs (If "Sex Yeah" was really an early centerpiece of the whole thing). It's kinda same thing of Britney's "Original Doll", they are just early concepts with few demos around.
Unless you're talking about "die Life" (song). Then, I think so. If people really had "Like China Dolls", "Saviour" and more going around (like Bump In the Night and Eternity\Hold Me, that we had no idea), they probably have whatever "die Life" is.
I wanted to write a really long post just praising of how iconic Electra Heart is and, like, how it was her second album and how well done the whole thing was. From the visual to the actual research around the archetypes and songs. But we all should know that by now. Stream Electra Heart and Man's World <3

Gypsy is a real lovely song but it's not commercial sonically apart for its post-chorus, MANiCURE is catchy af but it's kinda chaotic and sudden, Sexxx Dreams is iconic and essential on her discography but again, far from being commercial and I think the same for Aura
I'm glad Applause was chosen for the lead single because it's most "commercial" song on the record and it helped it to not underperform awfully. DWUW had so much potential but its lack of a music video didn't do any good and G.U.Y. came out too late
I guess that's what she meant with "Could show you all the reasons why my ARTPOP could mean anything" if you think about it
I think Gypsy is the standard EDM Love Song that every now and then end up sparkling some interest. Personally, I hate it, nnnn, and they TRIED it putting it on... SNL and, like, the Muppets special, but the song didn't pick any sales... but yeah, a full single push with Radio and so on is on another level, and it could have worked, it wasn't "radio poison" like most of the stuff. Same for MANiCURE which is like one of the few songs that she didn't... swear out of nowhere lol.
Sexxx Dreams & Aura & Venus would have flopped but she'd be serving, I just know she'd kill it. Especially Venus, she was so... connected with that one. I'm just sure it would end up being a "signature" of sorts just because she'd perform it everywhere trying to make it happen and it would be exposed enough that people would think of it as a Hit.
a "Run the World (Girls)" tea. Or like... Million Reasons.

I don't think ARTPOP problem would be "genre mix" because, personally, it works, but it does sound heavy and loud and... it gets tiring. It's the total opposite of when you have an album that halfway just stops and put every ballad and midtempo all along to finish. ARTPOP slow down a bit in the middle, with MANiCURE\Jewels N Drugs\DWUW\ARTPOP and then comeback louder and noisier than ever with Donatella, Mary Jane Holland, Gypsy and even Applause.
I don't think it's a bad thing, but I understand how it "doesn't work" at all as an album. But most of the songs are highlights so.... If it wasn't for the backlash from media, they'd still have plenty of obvious single choices like Gypsy and MANiCURE and also more "gaga stuff" like Sexxx Dreams and Aura. I hate how the era was cut short, but it was for the best.
And now........ Chromatica hun.

Random Thought
Unless I've been misssig some real confirmation about "When You Take Away Control" being an official "Forget" demo of sorts, I truly believe it is an original song on it's own. By the time "Froot" (song) came out, It was basically confirmed that the album was already done in full. If Forget was written as some sort of "last minute addition" (just like "How To Be a Heartbreaker"), it makes sense that they originally "had 14 songs, cut to 12" but ended up replacing one of them. It would make sense that Forget wasn't part of the "recording list" as most (if not ALL) of Froot was recorded between April - June 2014 and Forget came after "BRIT Awards Hungover" (The 2015 edition, when everyone came out wasted as fuck. If it was after 2014, it would've been one of the earliest songs too, contradicting WYTAC being one of the last songs on that list).
My only doubt about this is the fact Forget was part of the "FOTM" campaign and it would've been a short time to write, record, finish, create a music video and release it... in a month (Feb-March\15). But the whole package felt way more simplier than everything that came before (and after), so there's that.
After writing all of this I kinda remembered something about her website leaking lyrics because pages were already up and just "hidden" so I just don't know and got lazy to search about and also realized that absolutely NOTHING proved my point that When you Take Away Control wasn't "transfomed" into Forget but yeah, I still believe they're different songs. Thanks 4 coming to my TED Talk x.
When You Take Away Control might be one of my favorite titles now that I think about it.

Maybe that's the issue, paying the songs nnnn.
It's just a mess. I think she does change a few things up and there like... you can hear even if it's one note or another. But yeah, it's just a mess.
