    Brooklyn Baby vs 13 Beaches
  2. RIGHT.... that's part of the reason I don't connect w Love Song, bc of how predictable and lazy the lyrics are "in my party dress I'm a fuckin mess" girl hang it up
  3. NFR really is a funny one. I find the the difference between NFR and Lana's other albums is kinda like the difference between watching Bob Ross do The Joy of Painting and watching something like Breaking Bad. NFR is almost like... slice of life, humble, background-ish music.... sorta like when you watch The Joy of Painting. It makes you feel happy and content and it's nice for sure. But then you put on Breaking Bad and it's a whole other vibe, you're on the edge of your seat, it's inspiring almost, it's exhilarating. That's like Lana's other albums to me... they conjure up such vivid imagery and make me feel stuff. Don't get me wrong - there's a WHOLE lot of emotion in NFR, but it's a different kind of emotion. Pre-NFR Lana is Saturday night, NFR is Sunday afternoon. It's an album I listen to SO much when I'm cleaning, on the train, and so on, but don't actively reach for if someone's like "play something!" whereas I might with Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, Born To Die, even Lust For Life. It's funny though cause I would rank NFR as my second fav album (after UV), but it's like a different kind of enjoyment.

    Bel Air

    one of her absolute best
  5. how can lyrics be so simple yet so iconic
  6. unfortunately you're very right i don't mind the singer-songwriter type stuff - actually HIADT is one of my fav tracks on NFR! and i love her stuff as May Jailer - but i would really love to hear her fully explore a more dark and sinister sound, especially since COCC as a title implies something pretty interesting, and it would be a bit different as opposed to just NFR! Part Two.
  7. You got that medicine I need, Dope, shoot it up straight to the heart please. I don't really wanna know what's good for me. God's dead, I said "baby that's alright with me" vs All the pretty stars shine for you, my love Am I that girl that you dream of?
  8. the way it's sexy, but a little sinister, a little dark, but still dreamy.... sounds fitting for a song that could be about the allure of a dreamy high class lifestyle that comes with a dark and dangerous undertone and a sinister price to pay wow Chemtrails Over the Country Club anyone?!?!?!
  9. omgggg I would LOVE something that sounds like Stargirl Interlude, that song is heaven to me... preferably a full song tho so that I don't have to replay it a million times like I do with Stargirl
  10. hmm i feel you! though it's interesting you say that, cause i actually feel like it's quite busy compared to Lana's other album covers (save for NFR). how do you feel about the font? I know a lot of people hate it
  11. I love the song, but it doesn't suit the title / overall vibe I have built up for COCC in my head
  12. I actually love the Honeymoon cover and truly don't understand the hate
  13. not this being the peak of lana fanbase humour back in 2013
  14. as a failure of a student who took the same film course THREE TIMES, this singular fkn shot is burned into my brain forever i can't even tell you how many characters worth of analysis i had to do on the opening sequence of Blue Velvet oh my GOD
  15. for me, this album gives me earth element vibes BTD: fire, mixed with a little air UV: fire HM: fire/air NFR: earth/water COCC: kinda earth to me so far?? edit: ok I forgot about LFL I'm gonna say that's water for me

    Sad Girl vs Cherry Blossom
  17. I'm a little too lazy to go thru all the pages since Chromatica dropped but what's the general consensus here on LB regarding the album?? Personally I love it - this and Starz by Yung Lean are 10000% tied for my fav albums of the year so far
  18. I'm surprised (but relieved) it's not just me that feels this way! but they're not ready for this conversation!
