I literally answered that question in the post you quoted I don’t think she’s supposed to make any kind of genre, but a country/southern gothic album would be something very different from her, and her working with Luke, an actual country producer, makes me think that the vibe and sonic switch up would be good

I do agree with the second part of your comment, about the fandom hoping for things that aren’t coming back (like the guitar in BTD and the sonic landscape of UV) but I don’t think it’s wrong to want Lana to change and evolve her musical style. Her first 5 albums are all extremely different from each other, and while COTCC-BB-Ocean Blvd all have a slightly different sound, all three of them sound a bit mix-tapey with a slight lean into folk. even Paradise, which is considered an extension of BTD, is very different sonically. I don’t wish for her to go back to her old sound, but at the same time I would like her to tackle a different genre, which is why Lasso always appealed to me, some fans didn’t want country, but at least it was a switch up.

I mean while its possible it could be Lana related, a bunch of boots in Nashville is grasping at straws level yeah let’s not do that. Harassing Lana/her team isn’t going to convince them to be more open about what’s to come

In the (I think) vogue interview she did, the interviewer ended the article by saying fans wouldn’t have to wait long for new music because there would be two singles out by the end of the year, but she didn’t quote Lana as saying it edit: I was wrong. Lana did say it We simply cannot wait. But good news for diehard fans: Before the record drops, Del Rey promises there will be more singles on the way.
