  1. Lust for Ugly featuring castrato the weeknd? Better than the iconic depression anthem Born to Die?? expect your lawsuit in 2-4 weeks, ma'am
  2. I've been listening to Honeymoon a lot lately. Gorgeous album. We all like to blame grandpa Rick for ruining LFL, but the difference between LFL and honeymoon's production (he did both!!) proves lana herself ruins her own music. I hope she doesn't override Jack's better sense and turn NFR into a sonic disaster. Venice Bitch gives me hope, but that hope is almost wiped out by HIADIFJNGDJ-SJDN. I'm scared.
  3. yes, you are. please see a otolaryngologist specializing in hearing loss immediately!
  4. lmao the poem is so vapid and shallow and just. it's bad i'm happy lana has gotten to a very comfortable place in her life, but it's become clear that she is not stimulated or challenged in any way. her lyrics are lazy. her visuals are lazy (that's being kind). her art has undoubtedly regressed. given that, it's incredible that the music still sounds good and the lyrics are okay, but come on. go listen to anything pre-LFL. nothing she puts out compares. she's wasting away in LA and seems to have surrounded herself with yes-men.
  5. You know, we all like to shit on the album and its production in favour of her later, more "artistic" work, but this project was so powerful. I don't think she'll ever top the cohesive and intoxicating narrative she had with BTD and Paradise.
  6. Not going to lie, any excitement I had for NFR has almost completely gone away. Her collabs are always fucking horrible, and a collab w/ another awful rapper does not fit the vision/sound I thought MAC and VB were leading into. This is going to be another LFL-type mess and I'm not fucking here for it. Do you guys remember how LFL was done (and from the demos/info we had, had a pretty cohesive and great sound), and while she was waiting for it to mix, she kept getting "inspired" and collabing with people and rushing to add songs she JUST wrote? It's fucking happening again!!!!!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT RUINED LFL!!!!!! SOMEONE STOP THIS WOMAN FROM FUCKING UP HER OWN WORK

  15. Re: Lana being slow/not slow. It's true that her album release cycles are actually a lot quicker than most artists, but I think we get impatient very, very quickly because her "eras" are full of unfulfilled promises, lack of promotion around the album, lacklustre live performances or no live performances of the new songs, next to no videos (and when we do get them, they're recycled bits of other scrapped videos), etc. Her eras are dead on arrival. And that's not necessarily a bad thing-- that's just the type of artist Lana is. For her, the fun is in crafting the album itself. Once it drops, she pretty much stops giving a fuck and just moves on to crafting the next one, making each "era" isolated events of dropping a lead single, its video, an album, and then pretty well ending. So, that being said, I think it's reasonable for us to be constantly pining for her to let us in on where she is at in the album creation (whether it's planning, writing, mixing, w/e), because it's pretty much the only excitement we get. I never understand why she doesn't just create documentaries for each album, because again, she hates promotion/touring but actually loves making/writing the thing, so it'd be cool if she let us in on the fun by documenting the process. It'd be awesome to watch Lana taking random voice memos to full-blown songs in the studio.
  16. You people are wild. Dying doesn't change who a person was or what they did. He was a very bad person who doesn't deserve any posthumous sympathy. Yeah, the way he died was gruesome, but so is beating up a pregnant woman and a gay man for "looking at you." Get over yourselves.
  17. I'm a billionaire. I'm a billionaire. I'm a billionaire. There, that was multiple times-- where's my money?
  18. i just think it's incredible that one bad performance had an enormous impact on the entirety of her career... it really killed her confidence. She's a lot better now, but like others have mentioned, there was years where she was nothing but a joke to all major media outlets... constantly battered with hate. she kept talking about wanting to quit singing, and I don't blame her-- It was really, really harsh. and now all these hypocrites love her, but damn it's just to weird to think that if this performance and the backlash that followed never happened, Lana would be so different and would have taken a diff path. then again, maybe she would have faded from the public eye quicker. who knows!
  19. I have decided that for LD6, I want the emotional intelligence and introspection of Honeymoon combined with the vivid imagery of AKA and the sound of UV. Lana, pls make it happen.
  20. An interest in science and belief in a higher power are not mutually exclusive. Anyways, I don't think Lana has shown any evidence of shedding religious beliefs. While I don't think she's ever been particularly hyperreligious, it's pretty clear to me that Lana holds some pretty strong beliefs about some kind of higher power- maybe not the Christian God, but definitely some kind of higher power. The lyrics you cite could easily be interpreted as taking your life into your own hands (LFL), or, in Get Free's case, finding comfort in having stopped trying to chase after things you thought would lead to happiness (fame, fortune) but ultimately led to dead ends.
  21. not to sound too shady, but i think that's mostly because Lana's rigid unwillingness to project her voice or use any kind of vocal dynamics means everything she sings kind of sounds the same nowadays and can be mapped onto a basic piano melody. Song still sounds great though
