  1. I swear this is a murder ballad https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_ballad The 'it's trigonometry' phrase suggests that it's either about her murdering both of the men in a love triangle, or only one of them. Any reading of this song as the narrator expressing pure tragedy has to ignore the second half of the song, or impose a structure that does not make sense (like the 'stages of grief' that genius.com attributes to it).
  2. Did anyone catch Chuck's Periscope? https://twitter.com/yourgirlchuck/status/647218067865407489
  3. - Go to the top of the Lanaboards page - click the little arrow next to your user name in the top right corner - choose 'Manage Ignore Prefs' - type the user name in the box beneath 'Add a New User To My List', and tick the boxes next to all three options (posts, signature, messages) - click 'Save Changes' This won't stop you seeing their Status updates or comments on those, however.
  4. This thread supposedly has the answer, but I know it doesn't work for everyone first time: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/6468-how-to-solve-default-icon-limbo/
  5. A 4/5 review in the Herald Sun - Melbourne's biggest and shittiest newspaper
  6. Well, theneedledrop gave it a generally positive review and 5/10. At least his 'fans' are pissed off that he didn't slam it
  7. This was answered on air - there won't be, unfortunately.
  8. She's got a big toy gun and she's not afraid to use it.

Although 'bets' would sort of make more sense in context, I agree that she's actually singing 'beds'. And here's an explanation of the 'chips' line, and giving context for what I think is a nice, if straight forward, poetic turn by Lana: http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/let+the+chips+fall+where+they+may
  10. Thanks for posting! It's so great to hear some new questions, and Lana answering in depth. I'm amazed (and a little proud) at how hip the interviewers are to Lana's work.
  11. I'm happy with the 7.5 mark from Pitchfork, to the extent that it will affect her metacritic score, but that review is a magnificent example of why music journalism now is dead in the water. She's obviously listened to the record, at the most, twice, and has managed to miss any subtlety that is there, and has also managed to not make any attempt to engage with what Lana might be trying to express with any of the songs, beyond the endless cliches that reviewers have been pumping out since day 1 with regards to 'Americana' and 'funereal'. I wonder when the day will come that a music journalist who works for a major magazine/internet site is born, who actually takes more than three minutes to summarise what they're hearing, and understands that sometimes songs are making allusions and connections that are not only reaching back to the past six months of popular culture (or, alternatively, to the ten figures that everybody remembers from the 1960's).
  12. Every bit of evidence people are putting forward is something like 'this word in the song is kinda similar to an AZ title'. They're going to dislocate their arms, they're reaching so much.
  13. Thank god they stopped any actual information spilling out.
  14. "I have no idea what I'm doing" - Lana Del Rey, 2015
  15. It's great that it seems that security's on top of things and keeping it fair.
  16. Finally someone got her to talk about some different, on topic things!
