  1. She's been here twice more than a lot of artists I love, but yeah, it would be good if she came back soon.
  2. This makes no real difference at all to us as fans. Maybe there will be more songs of hers in movies/ads, maybe there will be less. (I know there have been a couple of her songs over the years in ads in Australia eg Change on some insurance ads, and Video Games on a winery ad, but don't know if this is because she is published by someone different here). I presume she's getting a better deal for herself, though, as her last deal was probably signed when she had a lower status as an artist, so she might be getting a higher percentage, or better control over how it's all used.
  3. Six foot five I mean, that is pretty tall - I looked it up, and it's about the tallest 0.5% of men in America, but that means there are almost half a million men in the USA who could be mistaken for aliens.
  4. I'm not even seeing what is alien about it? It's gait, proportions and posture (about all you can really see) are 100% human.
  5. Same. I don't think I can remember another song being so hyped up by 100% of people who had heard it, and the song itself surpassing the hype.
  6. I'm standing at the back, holding an orange juice and trying not to look awkward.
  7. I saw her on the tour for her second album, after obsessing over Want the Truth, and she didn't play a single song from the debut. I kind of lost interest in her after that. It didn't help that I discovered Lana around the same time. The debut is still a masterpiece, though.
  8. Do you mean the Apple event? The lyrics are basically the same, not counting a couple of inconsequential words like 'And', aside from one apparent difference - the fighter is 'Jim', not 'Joe'. https://lanadelrey.fandom.com/wiki/How_to_Disappear_(song)
  9. Paloma Faith - Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful.
  10. I wish I didn't have to know that such a tragic story had been made into some fucking camp meme.
  11. Happy birthday AKA aka LDR! I'd be happy with a straight reissue with the original cover, maybe some nice liner notes written by one of our resident Lizzy experts, and some vintage photos.
  12. It will have its day ... Can anyone let me know which parts of the Let The Light In have gone viral? It feels like more of a story song, and less of a 'three seconds taken out of context for fun' type of song.
  13. Can you please upload it somewhere? Realising this might be against the rules, so don't do that, but I'd be interested to hear even a 30 second clip with the part you think sounds different, to know whether it's worth getting my fifth copy of the album.
  14. I was genuinely expecting to see you on the 'best username' category. It's one of the names here that cracks me up every time I see it. (And I normally hate SNs with 'Pussy' or a variation of that in them.)
  15. I always find this so hard, because there are at least 3 great members who I want to sweep the whole thing, but obviously they all can't. And when it comes to the unlikable people, I hate giving them any recognition, so don't want to vote for them either. In any case, this is a fun one!
  16. Not everyone needs to measure sobriety in the same way. It's possible it means 20 years sober, with occasional 'breaks'/relapses not being counted. She says 11 years in Melancholia, which was recorded I guess 11 years ago, but as I always say, she's terrible with specifics and dates, even important ones. Also, sobriety doesn't have to mean complete abstinence. I know people who are lucky enough to be able to move from problem drinkers to occasional drinkers without problems, but the important thing is they're not drinking in a self destructive way anymore.
  17. This is a great explanation. I also think there's a double meaning - the 'songs that she sings' also refer to her own songs, and she's thinking of the end of her own life ("... your days flash in front of you"), and she sees herself forgotten (see 'DYKTTATUOB'), and her own songs as obscure as the folk songs. (The 'just another folk song' also shows this double meaning - both the old songs her families are standing together singing, and also 'Kintsugi' itself).
  18. It makes me wistful to think that if he really was the svengali behind the scenes of making Lana into a big star, like all the haters imagined, her image would have been based around lobsters and Hawaiian shirts instead of old starlets and red dresses.
  19. Does anyone remember the fan made record 'Young and Beautiful' on Youtube? I feel like that was my first real exposure to unreleased (even though it mixed in a few released, non album songs), and I'd love to see a tracklist again. Anyway, I think the first unreleased song I came across was Driving in Cars With Boys, which I remain obsessed with, and, if it counts, Kinda Out of Luck.
  20. This is one of the lines that people online seemed to argue over (what exactly the line said), and that she took the time to VERY clearly enunciate when singing it live, so I think she really wanted it to be understood.
  21. It's always great when a fella tells a woman how she should be a better feminist. (I haven't watched it, and probably won't, but seeing as he clearly didn't listen to the album the first time around, then fuck him).
  22. Every line of this song is God-level poetry, and is both hilarious and terrifying. The greatest diss track of all time, and it's entirely self-directed! I've had lines from this very song come to mind a thousand times.
