Exactly! The world has been trying to cancel her since day 1 and she is just out here winning.  I swear that she gets cancelled at least twice a year and then everyone forgets with the new music. 

I've lost count of the number of times Lana had been "cancelled" according to some jerks on Twitter or IG because Lana wrote something supposedly weirdly worded, so I'm not worried about the effect of her latest post.

That's fair. But my whole point is, some of y'all act like what Lana wrote was "These women get a free pass just because they are POC" (Ariana not included, obviously) thereby disregarding, invalidating and overlooking their personal hardships, but also the hardships they experience as minorities, and that's specifically what Lana did not write.

Is anyone going to adress the fact that she wrote all that to kinda promote her upcoming releases? 

Exactly this. Lana has always, and will always, speak from a very personal and emotional perspective. She's not putting anyone down. She's expressing her sadness and angriness. Yes, she's a critics darling now, but did y'all forget how much did it take? All the criticism? Homegirl has a fucking trauma bc of SNL, and it shows.

at the end of the day her and everyone she mentioned in that article are extremely privileged and im surprised people have become so outraged with her opinion??? like just ignore her if you dont like it lmao

She's literally just expressing frustrations from a personal perspective; seeing other women being celebrated (for the most part, there will always be haters) for being their exuberant, bold, fearless, magnificent self and expressing their womanhood however the fuck they want, but when she did that not so long ago she was dragged through the pits and that's all there is to say.
 
Funny how a week ago y'all were all for Lana expressing pain over Mother's Day and that was somewhat acceptable for a modern woman to say "you know what, Mother's Day is kinda bullshit", but for her to put some perspective and trying to understand why she was hated this damn much the first couple years after she popped on the scene, that's a no no, because she happened to have mentioned other very successful female artists and put some perspective to what she was trying to point out.

Also, for fucks sake, she's putting herself in the same place as these girls. why is that hard to understand? She's speaking up AGAINST the industry.

That is the point of the whole post baby. Her putting out 2 albums about that and getting all the criticism in the world but when other people did it they got praised.

Yup, and somehow some of than non-sensical, no nuance, exaggerated, taken out of context and blown out of proportions type of discourse made its way on here.

Which white artists could have she mentioned that would fit the description she made? Genuinely asking since I'm not up to date on current popular music.

She literally was being criticized for that, that's the whole point. We all know damn well that Lana has an entire catalog full of songs that explore these so called controversial topics, that's not the point. The point is some artists in the music industry express certain ideas in their music and it's like "YASSSS" and others do just that and it's like "yikes". 
 

Lana's whole point was that some people get a free pass, or do not receive the same criticism for expressing themselves (in that case expressing their views on feminism and womanhood), while she was just being her "Lana Del Rey, mysterious and glamorous woman, harkening you back to an era gone by and she sings her songs from a so called unconventional POV" self.
 
Somehow at the time that was deemed as problematic, but now she sees these successful female artists being bold about their femininity and, for the most part, getting praised for it. I'm sure she lives for every single one of them, but it probably also doesn't sit well with her, because not so long ago she was being critiqued for doing very that.

Also, anyway, why do people criticize her choice of words? Aren't we all messy, problematic, etc, when we try to express our feelings? Especially they they come from angriness or sadness? Oh, 'cause she's a celebrity? Well, that's it, she's a celebrity, not a fucking linguistics scholar.

I'm late to the party, and I have no will to stay, but her post was magnificent. This is something we've all been saying for the past 10 years; something the industry has realized just 2 years ago... and now Lana herself has exploded. (Her dominant Pluto jumped out)
 
The first part was poorly written, but the rest is great (overall).
