This album was the first time I experienced the phenomenon of lana releasing something that thematically fits in perfectly with where you are in life. I was working up to 60 hours a week and was so tired I only cared about the simple things. I was at a transition point in life where I was just totally over my rebellious younger years. Fed up with clubbing, drinking, toxic people, and just wanted to be happy and healthy.

I can't believe no one told me about this. I just stumbled upon this doc and when the song started I thought "hm. this girl sounds a lot like lana. nah. it's not her though"

i might just be stupid but tbh if i didn't know, i'd think those two pictures are completely different people (the bedroom pics vs the prom pics)

Everyone thinks they want one thing, and then find out it wasn't what they wanted. Everyone has conflicting desires. Are you yourself any less hypocritical than her, or is it just easier to critisize lana because she makes her feelings and her journey public?

The way Lana spins in white dress reminds me of a dervish. Especially the way it's while she sings "makes me feel... makes me feel like a God". It's very powerful, I wonder if it was an intentional resemblance. I guess it would be weird to think of her having an Islamic influence. But hey... why not... (a dervish is a kind of mystic muslim, like here )
