Also I’m sure someone has said this already but I’m interpreting her “revenge” as the act of telling her own story, which so far it sounds like she’s doing on this record in a whole new way.

I think BB sounds the most like a transition between COCC and this next era- still some of those warm twangy guitars. WW is still my fav of the three- picks up with big atmospheric beats a la HM which I will never be mad at! But also like a natural progression from the songwriting on COCC. Love the vocals, like someone else said she’s returning to those jazzier vocals rather than her folk vocals (which i also love tbh). TB’s verses are incredible but the chorus’s melody isn’t hitting for me- we’ll see, maybe it’ll happen! And I am LOVING the lyrics on these- seems like she’s moving some of her techniques from poetry to her lyrics (the wordiness) which I adore…the stardust IV line absolutely kills me. All in all this has me VERY excited for the album (which btw I still think is called RCS but who truly knows) tho is my heart really ready so soon after COCC????

i can also see behind the iron gates coming in so perfectly alongside this new album re new lyrics...here's hoping we get that soon too!

WW is def my fav of the three (love the drums at the end!). the melody of TB i couldnt quite hold onto, and BB is lovely, those two will take a bit longer to settle into my bones i think. am thrilled to have new songs and a new era, even though i adore COCC.

I could see her doing a whole unreleased/rarities album that spans her whole career- she has so many!

CONGRATS, I didn’t even know u were in law school! Go u! And how fun to get so much new Lana music during such a transformative time in yr life

i am so sad to say this but none of the new songs have really connected with me (though i listened to PYWIP a bit when it first came out). pre-ordered the vinyl when it was announced so i'll def be giving it a full listen, but this might be another s/t for me in that it just doesn't hit for some reason. i used to love reading interviews with her and lately even her interviews seem uninteresting to me...just the same info over and over again. i know that's what a lot of press is, but i don't get a real sense of her being excited by this album or about her artistry atm. may be totally wrong, obvs.
